The FB was 79-80 mph and bumped 81 mph a few times. Worked from a mid ¾ slot and the FB showed late life vs. hitters. The breaking ball showed sider action at 68-73 mph and he was able to throw this pitch consistently for a strike. Had a very nice inning of work and was consistently around the zone. Slightly open stance at the plate with a leg kick approach at the plate. The ball sounded different coming off his bat. Showed power to all fields and the ability to handle pitches in/out of the zone. Looks easy in the field as he never looked rushed getting to ground balls or making the throw. Quick transfer and easy carry on balls across the diamond.
9.23.18- showed some strength at the plate from his slightly open stance and does a good job of getting ready to hit on time. Creates some torque from his lower half and has some lift in the swing. Showed some pull side pop in BP and had a 2B in the game. Defensively he showed a good arm across the diamond with solid glove work and presentation. On the mound, he was upper 70’s with his fastball but his best pitch seemed to be his slider which showed tight spin and movement which he was able to locate at will.
