5-foot-10, 160-pound solid frame. In the box, the right-handed hitters best exit velocity was 80 mph. Started in a balanced stance. Bat speed was above average, and used level swing plane. Found multiple barrels during his rounds. Gap to gap approach. While in the infield, made throws up to 78 mph; shows athletic footwork and a fluid exchange. Showed decent accuracy to the base with a high ¾ slot. During the event, ran the 60-yard dash in 7.53. On the mound, threw his fastball 79-82 mph with a max of 83 mph; showed in the zone command. His 11/5 curveball (62-65) had tight action.
1/18/20
High ¾ slot from the ‘22 grad that gets downhill well with all of his pitches. The fastball was 77-78 with some sink to the pitch. The breaking ball was 63- 66 mph and showed as a two plane pitch with late depth. The change up was very effective as the pitch showed nice deception and late tumble into RH hitters. Shows some pitchability on the mound. Even, crouched stance at the plate with a very short approach with the hands and the bat path is fairly flat throughout. Showed solid control of the barrel and the ability to hit to all fields. The actions at 3B are solid and he showed well moving through the throw to 1B. Quick transfer and a short arm action the throws.
11/03/19
Showed a quick, athletic delivery on the mound with a FB that had “sneaky” life with ASR. The FB was upper 70’s, topping at 79 mph and the breaking ball showed 12/6 action with tight spin. Also showed a different breaking ball with slider type action. The change up was 73-74 mph with tumble into RH hitters. Really competes on the mound. Very short, compact approach at the plate from a slightly crouched stance with the feet even. The barrel path was fairly level and he did a nice job keeping the hands and barrel inside the baseball. There is some strength in the hands and he showed a mostly middle of the field approach. Nice actions at 3B as he played low to the ground and showed a very quick transfer from the glove to throw. A ‘22 grad to keep an eye on.
9.23.18- his arm worked well from the OF and will continue to add strength as he gets older. Took a very crisp round with a toe tap approach and and had a flat, direct path to the ball. Had a loud barrel at bat during the game. Well coached and good approach to the game, will be interesting to follow as he gets older.
