Impressed at 3B during defensive work. The glove is solid and his feet moved athletically. Has really changed his body for the better since we saw him previously. Arm strength is no question making throws across the dirt. At the plate, he showed a middle of the field/oppo approach and did not try to do too much. Showed some pop (84 mph exit velo) and some twitchy hands at the plate. Solid approach at the plate. On the mound, he touched 80 mph with the FB and a slower breaking ball that showed late depth. The change creates deception and late tumble. Mechanics are clea
10.14.18- A physical (6’2 190 lbs.) 2022 RHP that will be an interesting follow over the next few years. Does a very good job of getting to his balance point over the rubber and showed the ability to attack the zone. Will add more velocity with physical maturity and some cleanup of his mechanics- getting his glove side back to closed and really getting through his land foot. His fastball was anywhere from 71-76 mph with a breaking ball in the mid 60’s that showed tight spin out of the hand.
10.14.18- A physical looking (6’2 190 lbs) kid that showed some strength at the event. The glove plays at 3B but he could very easily move across to 1B as well. Did a good job of resetting his feet after fielding ground balls and gaining ground toward 1B. Showed some pop at the plate with a bit of tilt in his swing but was able to show that pop to all fields.Slightly open set up. Showed a patient approach at the plate during the game and was able to barrel a ball up the middle in an AB.
