Another arm that impressed at the Medicine Hat Preseason ID was 2026 Riley Tweten. At 6-foot-0, 165-pounds there’s room to add strength to his frame. The arm is short, but is loose and has some whip to it. He ran the fastball up to 78 mph and does a good job killing induced vertical break, adding upwards of 13 inches of horizontal break (HB). The changeup profiles similarly, but has slightly more HB at 16 inches. A second effective off-speed pitch is his curveball. It has two-plane break, and plays down in the zone as an effective swing & miss offering. The Medicine Hat American Legion product will be an arm to follow as he continues to add strength and develop.
