Beitz was a standout on both sides of the ball at the Scout Day. An athletic mover, standing at 6-foot-0, 170-pounds, he has a quick arm and ran his fastball up to 78 mph. With a low-¾ arm slot, he works mostly east to west as the curveball/slider duo both move more horizontally than vertically. The sinker also fits well in the repertoire, with 13 inches of horizontal break and just 3.5 inches of induced vertical break. At the dish, Beitz worked to his pull side showing the ability to elevate. The two-way Black Gold product will be a name to know this summer.
