Listed at 5-foot-10, 150-pounds. The uncommitted 2020 Simpson out of Red Deer was a player to watch during our Edmonton Showcase this past June. On the infield the glove works well with soft hands and the arm strength is continuing to develop. On the mound he has a good three pitch mix, threw all three pitches for strikes consistently, repeatable mechanics with athletic movements. At the plate, Simpson showed a good gap to gap approach from the left side. Takes what is given to him and hits the ball where it is thrown. Good rhythm and timing throughout the load, hands are quiet and under control.
