Branden Woods started the fourth game of the weekend for the Okotoks Dawgs and settled in after a rough first inning to pitch solidly for the hometown team. He had a high 3/4 arm slot with a short arm action that wasted no movement behind his body. He had smooth rhythm and landed closed with regular effort during his delivery. He featured a three pitch mix with his fastball sitting 82-83 mph, a change-up at 72-75 mph and a curveball at 71 mph. After his first inning he attacked the strike zone with all three pitches, he will need to get better action on his off-speed to become a true college threat on the mound. The uncommitted 2019 pitcher has the body to add more size and that should help sharpen everything up.
