On August 5th and 6th PBR Colorado hosted their 4th annual Top Prospect Games at historic Cherry Creek High School. 70 prospects from the 2019-2021 classes showed up for the two day event that featured both a pro-style workout and games each day.

Nolan Ackerman C / 3B / Chaparrel, CO / 2019Rankings State Rank:36 POS:3
5-foot-11, 160 pounds. Bats and throws right. Really works hard behind the plate. Went hard all weekend. Had in-game pop time of 1.9, and arm velo was 76 mph. At the plate has slight open stance, is short to the ball, and line drive hitter. Has bat speed. 87 mph exit velo. Ran a 7.3 60 which plays for a catcher.

Owen Best C / 1B / Regis Jesuit , CO / 2020Rankings State Rank:4 POS:1
5-foot-10, 185 pounds. Bats left, throws right. Plus left-handed hitting power for a catcher. Open stance with big load. Great position to hitting lane. Explodes on contact Strong lower half and ball jumps off the bat. Produced a 84 mph exit velocity off tee but shows more power live. Behind the plate was strong. 1.98 pop time off coach and threw 74 mph. Threw out 2 runners in one inning at 2B and 3B. To see video click here

Andrew Naha C / OF / Mullen, CO / 2020Rankings State Rank:9 POS:3
6-foot-1, 155 pounds. Bats and throws right. Athletic catcher who showcases 5 tools. At the plate has a balanced athletic stance, slightly uphill swing with gap to gap power. Gets good extension through the baseball. Bat speed played well in the live round. 79 mph off a tee. Behind the plate was 1.96-2.0 with pop-times off a pitcher in between innings. Arm velo was 72 behind the dish. Solid framing skills. In the OF had one of the strongest arms at the event at 82 mph. 2020 player to follow in our state. Ran a 7.15 60 time.

Ryan DePew C / RHP / Grandview, CO / 20215-foot-11, 165 pounds. Bats and throws right. At the plate slightly crouched in stance, slight leg kick. Keeps hands inside of ball, lets ball get deep. Gap to gap power. 89 mph exit velo off a tee. Behind the dish had pop-times off pitcher in between innings of 2.05 and 2.10. Arm velo was 70 mph. Pretty quiet behind plate with framing. On the mound pitches mostly from stretch, has some deception. Lands with a closed stride, slightly towards 3B. Wraps back and comes from 3/4 arm slot. Not much effort in delivery. Throws 4 pitches. Fastball lived 76-78 mph touching 79 thrown for strikes. Has some arm side run. Curve had 11/5 shape at 62-63 mph. Change was 67-68 with some fade. Also threw a splitter at 61-62 mph. Ran a 7.7 60 time. Solid 2021 prospect in Colorado.

COLE DOUGLASS C / 3B / NORTH CASPER WYOMING, WY / 20215-foot-9, 145 pounds. Bats and throws right. Leg kick, short stride. Slight load back. Uphill swing, line drive hitter, pull tendencies. Had a 80 mph exit velo off tee. Behind the dish was 2.05 to 2.10 with pop-times off pitcher in between innings. Threw 69 mph. Solid framing skills. Hard working catcher. Ran a 7.5 60 time.

Nate Leash C / 3B / Monarch, CO / 20205-foot-9, 170 pounds. Bats and throws right. Has tall, opened stance at the plate. Slight leg kick, medium stride. Slight uphill swing, spins off a little towards 3B. Exit velo was 83 mph off a tee. Behind the dish had pop-times off a coach at 2.0 to 2.08. Arm velo was 71 mph to 2B. Versatile player who can also play infield. Was 78 across the diamond to 1B. Over the top arm slot at 3B. Quick feet. Ran a 7.5 60 time.

Jack Roode C / 3B / Kent Denver, CO / 2020Rankings State Rank:30 POS:6
6-foot, 160 pounds. Bats left and throws right. At plate stands tall, loads straight back, and has high leg kick back. Level swing through zone. Line drives to gap to gap. 82 mph exit velo off the tee. Beats the ball when framing. Pop-times were 2.06 to 2.11 off a coach. Arm velocity was 72 mph and accurate.

Raul Villarreal C / SS / Arvada West, CO / 2019Rankings State Rank:50 POS:4
5-foot-11, 170 pounds. Bats and throws right. Leg kick stride, soft load. Uphill swing with bat speed. Bottom hand finish. Good extension through the hitting zone. 92 mph exit velo off the tee. Behind the dish showcases a strong arm at 74 mph with 1.99 to 2.07 pop-times. Can also play infield and showed good actions at SS with soft hands. Arm velo was 83 mph across the diamond.
