EVENT HISTORY

The Western Wisconsin Summer ID has delivered in the past for our staff—providing a look at some of the under-the-radar talent that resides in the Eau Claire area.

Last year, RHP’s Giles Groothousen (Flambeau, 2024; Bryant & Stratton (WI) commit) and Carter Gunderson (Eleva-Strum, 2024; North Iowa Area CC) were a pair of right-handers who excelled on the mound during the event—earning commitments to JUCO programs in the process.

UTL Tanner Hraby (Medford Area, 2024; Wisconsin-River Falls) was a 2024 First Team All-State winner who was in attendance throughout last year’s event, notching an invite to the Top Prospect Games in Milwaukee shortly afterwards.

INF Sam Reimann (Merrill, 2024; Wisconsin-Stevens Point) was a standout bat during the spring, too. He made a name for himself during the action at Carson Park last year—-committing to Wisconsin-Stevens Point to continue his baseball career.

The talent produced 11 commitments to date, with more to come in the near future.

2024 ROSTER

It bodes well for this year’s roster, one that boasts talent throughout. Some have emerged as follows from the spring, while others have produced during tournament play—shaping up for a strong group of prospects in attendance on Tuesday.

The roster begins with a Third Team All-State member who took the spring by storm in RHP/INF Tavian Shramek (Blair-Taylor, 2025). The uncommitted junior put up video game numbers throughout his spring campaign, garnering an award as one of the top performing pitchers in the state. Shramek struck out 138 batters in 55 innings pitched—finishing with an 11-0 record in the process. He only allowed one earned run and completed his junior campaign with a low 0.13 ERA—proving to be effective for the Wildcats. Shramek will be making his first appearance in front of our staff on Tuesday.

RHP Brady Johnson (Eau Claire Memorial, 2025) has provided a couple of intriguing looks as a two-way prospect over the course of the last month, rushing his FB up to 86 mph at the PBT Wisconsin Open. His bat has played well, too—showcasing consistent power from the middle of the order. Johnson has emerged as an under-the-radar follow in the Badger State, making another appearance in front of our staff in Eau Claire on Tuesday.

INF Jack Halloran (Edgewood, 2025) is another to-be senior who has had a positive presence on the diamond, showing well both at the State Tournament in June and at the recent PBT Wisconsin Open. Halloran has been a scrappy hitter from the top of the order in multiple looks—excelling with a strong approach from the left side of the plate.

To round out the roster, C Thomas Check (La Crosse Logan, 2028) is amongst a pool of younger prospects who have stood out within our tournaments over the summer, as our staff is interested in getting a look at the numerous underclassmen in attendance on Tuesday.
