Team Wisconsin Future Games Workout: Quick Hits

The Prep Baseball staff hosted the annual Prep Baseball Future Games workout day on Wednesday, home to the top uncommitted prospects in the 2026 and 2027 class throughout the nation. The Prep Baseball Wisconsin staff was on hand to witness some of its top athletes compete at the state-of-the-art LakePoint Sports Complex.

2024 ROSTER

+ UTL Sam Abrahamson (Hudson, 2026) is a lean, wiry 5-foot-11, 185-pound prospect who put together another quality showing in a workout setting on Wednesday. Abrahamson provided some pop back in the spring in multiple appearances—looking the part in Georgia. From the right side of the plate, Abrahamson put up an average EV of 89.3 mph throughout the BP session. The right-handed hitter was a winner from the winter and spring—producing at a high rate for the Raiders to lead them to the State Tournament for the first time in 50 years. On the infield, Abrahamson is a versatile defender who reached 85 mph from across on the diamond.

+ INF Brayden Alivo (St. Thomas More, 2026) provided an upside look both offensively and defensively in his showcase, producing a max EV of 90.4 mph during his BP session in a 5-foot-9, 170-pound frame. Alivo has a flat bat path and has repeated the ability to send line drives to the gaps. Stays tall in an open stance, consistently getting the barrel to the baseball. Took a clean round of infield during his defensive session—illustrating his accurate arm and steady play. Alivo excelled throughout the summer from a two-way perspective—providing a spark at the plate for his team. Has proven to play multiple positions in the past with his versatility and athleticism.

+ INF Winston Alonso (Reedsburg, 2026) emerged as one of the top hitters in Wisconsin’s 2026 class—bringing easy power to the table in his BP session on Wednesday. Alonso presents some tools at the plate, finishing his round of BP with a max EV of 92.5 mph. The left-handed hitter sprayed line drives throughout, illustrating his production from the spring and summer. Alonso is a steady defender on the infield with a strong arm—reaching 83 mph throughout his infield session. The to-be junior has been one of the biggest risers in the past year, maintaining his momentum at LakePoint.

+ C Jack Brenner (Fond du Lac, 2026) was an intriguing follow throughout the workout day, presenting himself in an athletic 5-foot-10, 164-pound frame. Brenner enjoyed one of the stronger days at the plate—finishing the day with multiple barrels in a row. The right-handed hitter has shown quality bat-to-ball skills in recent showings, including a couple of in-game looks. Brenner is a tough out at the plate with speed on the basepaths, running a 6.80-second 60-yard dash during his workout on Wednesday. Behind the plate, Brenner is an accurate thrower, a trait that he carries on the infield, too. Presented an upside look throughout the workout day, boding well for the future.

+ MIF Jake Cummins (Milton, 2026) is a scrappy 5-foot-9, 156-pound prospect who has been one of the top athletes in the Badger State’s 2026 class, looking the part in Wednesday’s workout. Cummins has a simple right-handed swing, getting the barrel on the baseball with a level bat path. He put together a solid round of BP, spraying line drives to all gaps in the process. His defense is the separator in the showcase setting and in live action. Cummins is a slick-fielding defender with mature actions up the middle, which was on display once again down in Georgia. He ran a 6.97-second 60-yard dash, emphasizing his speed and agility in all aspects of the game as a rising junior.

+ OF Carson Hawley (Bay Port, 2026) stands at 5-foot-9, 165-pounds with present strength, showcasing a toolsy skill set throughout the workout portion of the day on Wednesday. Hawley is fresh off of a strong showing this summer, flashing easy power to the pull-side in live action. The right-handed hitter gets into his lower half and whips the barrel through the strike zone, presenting a quick, compact bat path. Defensively, Hawley excelled by reaching 85 mph from the outfield. Hawley is a steady defender who has showcased his explosiveness as an athlete in the outfield in prior looks.

+ UTL/RHP Matthew Hietpas (Appleton North, 2026) presents himself in a strong 5-foot-10, 182-pound frame, and showed well as a position player during his workout time in Georgia on Wednesday. Hietpas strung together quality looks throughout the summer, as he posted exit velocities in the upper-80s (T89.5 mph) during his BP session. Hietpas has loose hands and a direct bat path—consistently barreling line drives to the outfield. Defensively, the rising junior is versatile in both the outfield and the infield with an over-the-top arm motion. Hietpas reached 86 mph from the infield from the shortstop position, rounding out a solid day on the diamond.

+ C Maddux Lessard (Muskego, 2027) was the lone 2027 to make Team Wisconsin’s roster for the Prep Baseball Future Games—looking the part as the No. 1 ranked prospect in the Badger State’s 2027 class. Lessard stands at a mature 6-foot, 185-pound frame, and showcased his easy power during the BP session of the event. Lessard put out multiple home runs in the process with a controlled, yet aggressive pull-side approach at the plate. His max exit velocity reached 96.2 mph, emerging as one of the top power hitters on the team. Defensively, Lessard has a strong arm from behind the dish, in addition to quality footwork. The catcher’s pop times ranged from an impressive 1.99-2.05 seconds, touching 80 mph, too. Lessard enjoyed a strong summer on the circuit after garnering First Team All-State honors as the top producer at the catcher position for Muskego in the spring.

+ INF Caleb Liggon (Madison Memorial, 2026) is a long, lean athlete that stands at 6-foot-4, 181-pounds, running a 6.78-second 60-yard dash to kick off the action at LakePoint. Liggon has shown well on the basketball circuit as well—illustrating his athletic prowess on the diamond. From the right side of the plate, Liggon produced a consistent round of BP during the workout day, highlighted by posting max EVs in the low-90s. Liggon has an upright path and has proven to drive the baseball, showcased in prior looks throughout the spring and the summer. The two-sport star has emerged as an intriguing prospect to follow throughout the week, as he caps off another successful summer on the circuit.

+ OF Ezra Liggon (Madison Memorial, 2026), in similar fashion to his brother, is an above-average athlete who notched an invite down to Georgia after excelling on the diamond for multiple years in a row. Liggon stands at a strong 6-foot-4, 188-pound frame, and posted some of the top numbers on the day for Team Wisconsin. The left-handed hitter has a smooth, simple swing in the batters box, allowing for consistent barrels to all parts of the field. Liggon finished with a max EV of 96.8 mph in a quality round of BP. He rounded out his athleticism on the defensive end—touching 89 mph from the outfield position with a clean arm action. Liggon ran an impressive 6.71-second 60-yard dash to summarize his day, as the two-sport athlete continues to shine—emerging as one of the top prospects in Wisconsin’s 2026 class.

+ INF/RHP Calvin Moreau (Monona Grove, 2026) entered Georgia as one of the top players in the Badger State’s 2026 class, as he looked the part and more in Wednesday’s workout to kick things off at LakePoint. Moreau first ran a 6.64-second 60-yard dash, one of the quickest times amongst the pool of competition from around the nation. He then provided some pop at the plate, averaging EVs of 91.1 mph throughout the entirety of his BP session—maxing out at 96.5 mph. Moreau stands at an athletic 6-foot-3, 186-pound frame with more room to fill out in his frame—showcasing an easy swing from an upright stance. Moreau generates consistent power within his load from his lower half—impressing at the plate on Wednesday. His best work may be on the mound though, as the right-hander will get an opportunity to throw for Team Wisconsin later on in the week after dominating his competition throughout the spring and the summer.

+ OF Matthew O’Grady Jr. (Badger, 2026) is a 5-foot-11, 180-pound outfielder and one of the top athletes in the state. A standout two-sport athlete, O’Grady’s athleticism was on full display throughout the workout starting as he started the day by running a 6.75 60-yard dash while also posting a max jump height of 32.9”. At the plate the right-handed hitter hit six ball over 92 mph throughout his round. Defensively O’Grady has long been regarded for being one of the outfielders in the state and showcased more of the same here, athletic actions with natural ball tracking abilities and an accurate arm.

+ INF Chance Ruby (Wilmot Union, 2026) was one of the biggest winners from the workout day. Standing at a lean and athletic 6-foot, 177-pound frame, Ruby started his day off by running a 6.62 60-yard dash, with a 1.58 ten yard split, continuing on his impressive athletic testing Ruby recorded a max vertical jump of 34.9”. At the plate, the right-hander recorded a max exit velo of 97.7 mph with an average of 88.3. In the field, Ruby showed off his arm talent throwing 89 mph across the diamond.
