On Saturday, Feb. 3, the Prep Baseball Wisconsin team will be making its way to the Fielders Choice Training Facility—home of Puma Baseball Academy—in Kenosha to host the annual Kenosha Preseason ID. This is an open event to all high school classes (2024-27), and officially kicks off the winter showcase circuit in the Badger State.

EVENT HISTORY

This will be the eighth time the Prep Baseball Wisconsin group hosts the Kenosha Preseason ID—an event that highlights the talent from predominantly the southern portion of the state, and parts of Illinois. Last year’s showcase provided our staff a look at an abundance of talent within the area, nine of which have committed to play at the college level.

RHP Jack Olson (Antioch (IL), 2024; Northern Illinois commit) arguably enjoyed the most success after his showing in Kenosha in Feb. of 2023. While putting together a quality performance at the plate, Olson turned heads on the mound—presenting an upper-80s to lower-90s fastball (T90.9 mph) that had developed over the offseason. Along with his complements in offspeed pitches, Olson used that arsenal to enjoy a strong spring and summer—eventually leading to his commitment to Northern Illinois for next fall. He will be at the Preseason Procase on Jan. 31 at the Rhino Sports Academy.

A pair of Union Grove standouts, RHPs Landon Dessart (2024; Madison JC) and Marshall Loch (2024; Southern Indiana), used the 2023 Kenosha Preseason ID to showcase their prowess on the diamond. The two-way showings provided a glimpse into their successful future. Dessart emerged as an ace for the Broncos, who spent the entirety of their year in the Power 25. Loch bounced back in the summer after being sidelined by an injury—including a quality outing at The PBT The Rock Summer Championships.

Another member of the Southern Lakes Conference was RHP/INF Aben Beinlich (Burlington, 2024; Wisconsin-Parkside), who willed the Demons to the state tournament both on the mound and at the plate. Beinlich impressed in Kenosha in early February, highlighted by a mid-80s fastball and two mature breaking balls. His performances both in Kenosha and throughout the spring earned him an eventual invite to the Top Propsect Games in July.

2024 ROSTER

The 2024 roster has provided a quality mix of talent and newcomers that our staff is intrigued to get a look at this Saturday.

It starts with CIF Macay Wagner (Slinger, 2025), who has shown well at previous showcases at the plate. Standing at a strong 6-foot-2, 205-pound frame, Wagner put up EV’s in the low-90s at the 2023 Kenosha Preseason ID. The corner infielder provides strong hands and the ability to spray line drives to all fields. He garnered attention in March at the South Milwaukee Preseason ID as well—and after a strong summer on the tournament circuit—he enters Saturday ranked as the No. 47 prospect in Wisconsin’s 2025 class.

Macay Wagner (2/4/23)

A pair of rising arms will be attending Saturday’s event after an offseason of training in RHPs Lucas Frank (Germantown, 2025) and Brody Schulte (Westosha Central, 2025). Near the conclusion of summer, Frank made noise at the Eastern Wisconsin Open with his quick, short-arm delivery. His fastball reached 83 mph, complemented by a lateral-sweeping slider. While his arm continues to evolve and arsenal develops—as a right-handed hitter—Frank impressed by peppering the opposite field in Sheboygan a couple of months ago. His skill set will be one to watch on Saturday.

Schulte—standing at a lean, projectable 6-foot-5, 185-pounds—will be making his first showcase appearance in front of our staff ever since the 2023 Kenosha Preseason ID. It was there where Schulte ranged in the low-80s while showcasing quality spin rates for both his curveball and slider. His fluidity within his motion paired with over-the-top arm action excites as the junior continues to mature. The right-hander enters the winter ranked as the No. 60 prospect in the Badger State’s 2025 class.

Brody Schulte (2/4/23)

OF Alexander Smith (Indian Trail, 2025) took advantage of his showcase appearance at the Milwaukee Open at The Rock earlier this past summer. As a right-handed batter, Smith found success at the plate with a compact, repeatable approach in a 5-foot-11, 165-pound frame. His EVs maxed out in the low-90s (T91 mph), as he utilizes his strength in his lower half to drive the baseball.

To round out Saturday’s roster, INF London Stanley (Tremper, 2026) emerged as a name-to-follow in the 2026 class over the summer tournament circuit. The infielder—looming at a strong 6-foot-3, 180-pound frame—provides some pop from the right side of the plate, and did so in live action in the middle of the order for Puma Baseball Academy.

This year’s Kenosha Preseason ID—similar to all—also brings in many newcomers to the showcase scene, as our staff is excited to catch a glimpse at some of the talent throughout Wisconsin and Illinois.

EVENT CHECK-IN PROCESS

Because of the high number of prospects set to attend Saturday’s event, it is imperative that you read our adjusted showcase itinerary below, which will allow our staff to swiftly and efficiently educate and evaluate the players set to attend.

Additionally, in an effort to continue and develop contactless check-in strategies, upon arrival, players will scan a QR Code with their smartphone camera that will lead them to a Google Form. On that form, players will enter their name (matching the spelling on their Prep Baseball profile) and hit submit. Upon submission, players will be prompted to click a link that will direct them to their jersey color and number, located next to their registered name.
