The Western Wisconsin Open took place on July 14th at Carson Park in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
Today we conclude the player analysis by looking at the top pitching prospects from the event, lead by 2017 LHP Trevor Olson. Olson burst onto the scene working 80-83 and topping out at 84 mph with his fastball, his performance earned him an invite to the PBR Future Games.
2017 RHP Justin Reinkall checks in at the No. 3 spot on the list with a lanky, projectbale frame and a feel for three pitches.

Top Pitching Prospects
1. Trevor Olson, LHP, Chippewa Falls, 2017
6-foot-6, 198-pound, left-handed pitcher with a lanky, athletic frame. Unknown before the event to PBR, showed extremely well earning an invite to the PBR Future Games in Indiana. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a quick, loose arm action. Tall and fall online delivery with good balance throughout. Smooth rhythm with level shoulders and a square landing. Showed a feel for three pitches. Threw fastball for strikes that flashed run at 80-83 topping out at 84 mph. Curveball showed 1-7 shape at 67-70 mph for strikes. Maintained arm speed on changeup at 71-73 mph for strikes. On of the top arms in Wisconsin’s Class of 2017.
2. Alex Stodola, C/RHP, Coleman, 2015
6-foot-1, 185-pound, right-handed hitting C/RHP. Defensively has a short arm action from an over the top arm slot. Accurate throws with some carry. Soft hands with quick footwork, and a clean exchange. Popped 2.00-2.12 and threw 78 mph from the crouch. At the plate hits from a balanced setup with a leg kick stride. Short, level swing path with a fast bat. 82 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.65. On the mound works high ¾ arm angle with an up-tempo tall and fall delivery. Online delivery with a square landing. Fastball sat 84-86 mph. Curveball showed 11-5 shape at 72-75 mph. Slider showed hard action at 79-82 mph. Maintained arm speed on changeup with armside run for strikes at 75-78 mph.
3. Justin Reinkall, RHP/SS, Superior, 2017
6-foot-2, 165-pound, right-handed hitting RHP/SS with a lanky, projectable frame. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a long, loose, quick arm action. Tall and fall uptempo delivery online with home plate. Fastball sat 80-82 mph. Curveball showed 12-6 shape at 67-70 mph. splitter showed sinking action at 61-63 mph. Changeup flashed some cut at 68-70 mph. Defensively has a loose arm action from a high ¾ arm slot. Soft hands with fluid footwork and a clean exchange. Plays thru the ball with athletic actions. Solid actions on the backhand, profiles for third base. Threw 80 mph across the infield. At the plate hits from a balanced setup with a leg kick stride and good balance. Short path with extension thru contact. Fluid rhythm with a fast bat. 81 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.34. Will continue to improve with maturity.
4. Storm Standiford, LHP/1B, Eau Claire Memorial, 2016
6-foot-4, 185-pound, left-handed hitting LHP/1B with a lanky, athletic frame. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a loose arm action. Tall and fall online delivery with easy effort. Smooth rhythm with level shoulders and a square landing. Threw fastball for strikes showing run and sink at 77-79 topping out at 80 mph. Curveball showed sweeping action at 68-69 mph. Threw changeup for strikes at 66-68 mph. Defensively has a loose arm action from a high ¾ arm slot. Fluid footwork with soft hands. Good feel around the bag. Threw 73 mph across the infield. At the plate hits from an open stance with a short, toe tap stride. Line drive gap to gap hitter with fluid rhythm. 82 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.44.
5. Reese Vold, RHP/SS, Black River Falls, 2018
5-foot-10, 145-pound, right-handed hitting RHP/SS with a lanky frame. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a long arm action. Tall and fall online delivery with smooth rhythm. Fastball flashed slight running action at 74-76 topping out at 77 mph. Curveball showed 11-5 shape with gradual action at 62-64 mph. Changeup showed fade at 65-67 mph. Offensively hits from a balanced setup with a drop load and leg kick stride. Pull hitter with an uphill swing path. 81 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.39. Defensively has a long arm action from a high ¾ arm slot. Threw 75 mph across the infield.

Hunter Black, RHP, Durand, 2016
6-foot, 170-pound, right-handed pitcher. On the mound works from an over the top arm angle with a quick arm. Tall and fall delivery with a square landing. Level shoulders throughout delivery with some rhythm. Utilizes a slide step from the stretch. Fastball sat 77-79 mph. Curveball showed 12-6 shape at 67-71 mph. Changeup flashed sink at 69-70 mph. Splitter showed slight downward action at 66-68 mph.
Jake Griesmaier, LHP, Arrowhead, 2016
6-foot-1, 180-pound, left-handed pitcher. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a long arm action. Tall and fall delivery with a square landing. Fastball was straight up in the zone at 77-78 topping out at 79 mph. Curveball showed 1-7 shape with gradual action at 62-65 mph. Changeup sat 67-69 mph. Splitter was best off speed offering at 65-68 mph with downward action.
Jack Hinton, 1B/RHP, La Crosse Logan. 2017
6-foot-1, 195-pound, right-handed hitting 1B/RHP with a solid frame. At the plate hits from an open stance with a short stride, average balance and a short swing path. 73 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.92. Defensively works from a high ¾ arm slot with average hands. Threw 66 mph across the infield. On the mound works from an over the top arm angle with a short arm action. Tall and fall delivery with a square landing. Fastball sat 69-73 topping out at 74 mph. Curveball showed slurvy shape with loose rotation at 61-63 mph. Maintained arm speed on changeup with sinking action at 66-69 mph.
Hunter Hockenbrock, C/RHP, Superior Senior, 2016
5-foot-10, 131-pound, left-handed hitting C/RHP. Offensively hits from a balanced setup, drops hands on load with a short stride. Good balance with a level swing path. 74 mph exit velocity from a tee. Defensively has a short arm action from an over the top arm angle. Quick feet with a clean transfer. Popped 2.18-2.26 and threw 70 mph from the crouch. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a short arm action. Regular effort with a tall and fall slow paced delivery. Fastball flashed cut at 72-74 mph. Slider showed gradual action at 62-66 mph. Maintained arm speed on changeup that flashed sink at 67-70 mph.
Carl Krumenauer, SS/C/RHP, Chippewa Falls, 2016
6-foot, 150-pound, right-handed hitting SS/C/RHP. At the plate hits from a balanced setup with a short stride. Flashes a fast bat, pull hitter with an uphill swing path. 81 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.01. Defensively has a short arm action from a high ¾ arm slot. Fluid footwork with slower actions. Threw 72 mph across the infield. Also took drills at catcher popping 2.17-2.44 and threw 71 mph from the crouch. On the mound works from an over the top arm angle with a short arm action. Tall and fall online delivery with a square landing. Fastball sat 73-75 mph. Curveball sat 60-64 mph. Maintained arm speed on changeup that flashed sink at 67 mph.
Jared Lenze, RHP/2B, Mauston, 2017
6-foot-1, 175-pound, right-handed hitting RHP/2B. On the mound works from an over the top arm angle with a short arm action with a slight stab in the back. Tall at balance point with regular effort. Tall and fall online delivery with a square landing and smooth tempo. Fastball flashed sink at 72-74 mph. Curveball showed gradual action at 59-63 mph. Maintained armspeed on changeup with sinking action at 62-64 mph. At the plate hits from an open stance with an even stride. Line drive hitter with a short swing path and fluid rhythm. 75 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.78. Defensively has a long arm action from an over the top arm slot. Average arm strength with a long exchange. Shoed good actions on the backhand. Threw 73 mph across the infield.
Matt McCann, RHP/1B, Eau Claire Regis, 2017
6-foot-4, 200-pound, right-handed hitting RHP/1B. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a long arm action. Fall and fall delivery with regular effort. Fastball sat 75-77 mph. Curveball showed 12-6 shape with loose rotation at 59-61 mph. Changeup sat 58-62 mph. At the plate hits from an open stance with good balance. Pull power hitter with a fast bat. Showed strength thru contact with 83 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.87. Defensively has a long arm action from a ¾ arm slot with slower actions. Threw 68 mph across the infield.
Austin Sears, 2B/RHP, Superior, 2016
5-foot-9, 150-pound, right-handed hitting 2B/RHP. At the plate hits from a balanced setup with a short stride and good balance. Line drive hitter with a level swing path. 74 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.18. Defensively has a short arm action from a high ¾ arm slot. Accurate throws with average hands. Threw 68 mph across the infield. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a short stiff arm action. Tall and fall delivery with a short leg lift and upright finish. Fastball sat 71-72 mph. Curveball showed 12-6 shape at 63-67 mph. Threw changeup for strikes down in the zone and showing sinking action at 66-68 mph.
DJ Sweeney, OF/LHP, Janesville Craig, 2017
5-foot-11, 195-pound, switch-hitting OF/LHP. Offensively hits from a balanced setup with a short, leg kick stride. Short, level swing path. 75 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.49. Defensively has a short arm action from a high ¾ arm slot. Some accuracy with average hands. Threw 67 mph from the outfield. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a short arm action. Tall and fall delivery with some rhythm. Fastball was straight at 68-71 topping out at 72 mph. Changeup flashed sink at 67-71 mph. Curveball sat 65-69 mph.
