Waukesha Future Prospects Showcase: Analysis

On April 28 at STiKS Academy in Waukesha, we hosted a Future Prospects event that featured 11 enthusiastic players at the 7th- and 8th-grade levels. All 11 were interested in learning how they can better themselves while pursuing the opportunity to play at the next level, once their high school careers are underway.
Without further ado, here are full reports on each and every one of the prospects who attended the late-April showcase and educational event.
ALL PROSPECTS (LISTED ALPHABETICALLY)
Adam Balcerak, RHP/3B, Muskego, 2022
5-foot-11, 151-pound, right-handed hitting/throwing two-way prospect, well-proportioned, athletic frame. At the plate, balanced setup, smooth load, short toe tap trigger, maintains balance. Loose hands, level bat path, gap to gap approach, line drive hitter, fluid rhythm involved. Showed hard contact with present bat speed, exit velocity topped 82 mph from a tee. Defensively, steady hands, long exchange, rhythm in feet. Long, easy arm action, high ¾ slot, throws had some carry across, topped 76 mph. 7.61 runner in the 60. On the mound, tall and fall delivery, directionally in line, athleticism in finish. Long, loose arm action, quick arm speed out front, clean high ¾ slot. Fastball worked straight, 69-72 mph, topped 73 mph. Curveball flashed sharp depth, 12/6 shape with feel in the zone, 62-64 mph.
Elijah Jenkins, C, West Bend East, 2022
5-foot-4, 112-pound, right-handed hitting catcher, wiry frame. Offensively, balanced setup, back bar load, short leg kick trigger. Long, uphill bat path, flashed line drive abilities, exit velocity topped 77 mph from a tee. Defensively, pop times ranged from 2.55 to 2.69. Agile blocks, quick transfers, steady footwork, arm plays short, over the top slot, throws topped 65 mph from the crouch. 7.82 runner in the 60.
Benjamin Kasten, RHP, Whitnall, 2022
5-foot-11, 150-pound, right-handed pitcher, lanky, athletic frame. On the mound, tall and fall delivery, wide rocker motion, works in line, closed toe landing, upright at finish. Long, loose arm action, high ¾ slot, some effort involved. Fastball had slight run, 70-72 mph. Curveball, 11/5 gradual break, 55-59 mph. Changeup faded with some feel, 60-64 mph.
Jonathan Kim, OF, Brookfield Academy, 2022
5-foot-8, 165-pound, left-handed hitting/throwing outfielder, athletic frame. At the plate, athletic, open setup, smooth wrap load, leg kick trigger, maintains balance throughout. Natural uphill bat path, gap to gap power hitting abilities, fluid rhythm involved. Showed plus contact with athletic hands and present bat speed, exit velocity topped 88 mph from a tee. Defensively plays through the ball, quick, clean exchange, arm plays long, high ¾ slot. Throws had some accuracy and topped 76 mph from the outfield. 7.88 runner in the 60.
Nolan Klug, RHP/C, Menomonee Falls, 2022
6-foot-2, 150-pound, right-handed hitting/throwing two-way player, lanky frame. At the plate, balanced, wide setup, short stride, minimal load. Short, uphill bat path, can get long, flashed line drive ability with opposite field tendencies. Flashed hard contact, exit velocity topped 72 mph from a tee. Behind the plate, steady hands, quick, short arm, high ¾ slot. Throws topped 65 mph from the crouch. Pop times ranged 2.57-2.69. 8.06 runner in the 60. On the mound, tall and fall delivery, sturdy balance, works in line, some upright at finish. Long arm action, high ¾ slot, easy effort involved. Fastball worked straight, some run, 68-69 mph. Curveball had depth, 11/5 shape, 55-56 mph. Changeup played 63-64 mph.
Brandon Wiberg, RHP, Lake Mills, 2022
5-foot-9, 145-pound, right-handed pitcher. On the mound, quick tempo, drop and drive delivery, open landing. Short arm action, high ¾ slot, some rhythm and effort involved. Fastball worked straight, occasional sink in the zone, 63-66 mph. Changeup maintained arm speed, faded down in the zone, 60-61 mph.
Caden Wilson, OF, Menomonee Falls, 2022
5-foot-6, 125-pound, right-handed hitting/throwing outfielder, lanky, athletic frame. Offensively, tall, balanced setup, short leg lift stride, smooth load. Uphill bat path, present bat speed, pull side tendencies, maintains balance throughout. Exit velocity topped 74 mph off a tee. Defensively, plays through the ball with steady hands, works in stride, long arm, high ¾ slot. Throws topped 76 mph from the outfield. 7.46 runner in the 60.
Jacob Wnuk, OF, Brookfield Academy, 2022
5-foot-9, 140-pound, right-handed hitting/throwing outfielder, high-waisted, athletic frame. At the plate, wide, closed setup, minimal load and stride, some dive towards the plate. Level bat path, flashed a gap to gap approach with line drive abilities, hard contact with bat speed, exit velocity topped 79 mph from a tee. Defensively plays through the ball, quick footwork, clean exchange, over the top slot, throws topped 80 mph from the outfield. 7.60 runner in the 60.
Luke Wronski, RHP/1B, Marquette University, 2022
6-foot, 175-pound, right-handed hitting/throwing two-way player, strong frame. On the mound, tall and fall delivery, hybrid setup, deliberate actions, works in line, heel to toe landing, athletic finish, rhythm involved. Short, loose arm action, high ¾ slot, regular effort involved. Fastball sank in the zone, 67-69 mph, topped 71 mph. Curveball 12/6 shape, can spin it, 54-57 mph. Changeup faded with arm speed, 65-67 mph. At the plate, balanced, tall setup, short stride, maintains balance. Long, uphill bat path, gap to gap power abilities, fast bat speed. Exit velocity topped 84 mph from a tee. Defensively, steady hands, long exchange and arm with an over the top slot. Throws had some accuracy, topped 72 mph across. 7.99 runner in the 60.
Samuel Wronski, C/RHP, Marquette University, 2023
5-foot-7, 110-pound, right-handed hitting/throwing two-way player, lanky frame. On the mound, drop and drive delivery, works in line, square landing, some athleticism in finish. Short arm, high ¾ slot, effort involved. Fastball had slight run, sat 61 mph, topped 62 mph. Curveball had depth, 12/6 shape, can spin it with feel in the zone, 54-55 mph. Changeup faded, 58-60 mph. At the plate, balanced setup, smooth load, short stride. Level bat path, flashed line drive abilities, fluid rhythm involved. Exit velocity topped 68 mph from a tee. Behind the plate, pop times ranged 3.04 to 3.08. Arm played short, over the top slot, throws topped 58 mph from the crouch. 8.68 runner in the 60.
Salvatore Zizzo, C, Muskego, 2022
5-foot-8, 155-pound, right-handed hitting catcher, strong, athletic frame. As the plate, open, athletic setup, smooth back load, short toe-tap trigger, maintains balance. Long, level bat path, showed natural uphill path at times, gap to gap approach, present bat speed, exit velocity topped 77 mph from a tee. Defensively, pop times ranged from 2.43 to 2.54. Athletic actions, steady footwork, soft hands, short arm, over the top slot. Throws topped 65 mph from the crouch. 7.88 runner in the 60.
