Today’s Player Spotlight is on unsigned senior Joshua Serio. Serio is a Class of 2013 product of Whitnall HS. As the ace of the Falcon staff, Serio led the team with a 5-2 record and a 0.94 ERA in 2012.

Serio is an unsigned senior with arm strength. At 6-foot-1, 215-pounds, he is a wide-bodied right-hander. Recently we saw Serio in the I-94 league. In the first inning, his fastball was consistently 84-86 while flashing an 88. He works from a 3/4 arm angle, delivering the baseball slightly across his body, but the arm works with little effort. He also flashed a 74-76 mph changeup. The way Serio’s arm works, along with his strong physique, it certainly looks like there’s more velocity than he showed.

Serio and the Falcons should be poised to improve off their 15-11 record of a year ago.
