As we approach the end of 2021, we're taking account of the PBR Wisconsin player profile pages to determine the players in our backyard whose profiles earned the most attention throughout the year. We're counting down the top-10 profiles in the state that received the most views, from No. 10 and on, concluding our countdown on New Year's Day by revealing the most-viewed profile of the year.

Coming in at No. 8 on our list is a true two-way talent, INF/RHP Owen Washburn. This is Washburn’s second time being a top-10 most viewed profile as he was No. 9 back in 2019.  The Texas Tech commit put on a clinic his last high school season. On the mound for Webster, Washburn threw 34 innings with 84 strikeouts while allowing just one walk. At the plate he had a batting average of .741 with seven home runs and 61 RBI’s. This stellar season won Washburn Wisconsin Player of the Year honors. In our final rankings for the ‘21 class Washburn settled in at fourth overall in the state and received a national ranking as well.

NO. 8 OWEN WASHBURN

Scouting Report

7/02/20

6-foot, 170-pound right-handed-hitting corner infielder and pitcher. Strong, compact frame that he’s added some substantial strength to. Washburn is also one of the youngest incoming senior prospects in the class. Another prospect on this roster who is earning some 2021 draft interest. Took the ball against PTA Cardinal on Saturday night and came out hot, sitting 86-88 mph, touching 90 a few times; some heaviness to it with life in the zone. Went to what was, in all likelihood, the tournament’s best breaking ball – an 11/5 curve with biting action, consistently sharp, with spin that topped 2,600 RPM, according to the radar gun. He punched out seven in his 4.1 innings of work.
