Summer Preseason I.D.: Preview

On Saturday, May 12, Prep Baseball Report will be hosting the Summer Preseason I.D. event, with WIAA’s summer season just around the corner. The showcase will be held at STiKS Academy in Waukesha, with a focus on identifying the top prospects in the area gearing up for the WIAA summer baseball calendar. This event will mirror the typical format for all of the preseason showcase we host.

Saturday’s event is still open to all high school players participating in the upcoming high school summer season. Currently, there’s over 40 players registered to attend but there is still time and room to register, by CLICKING HERE.

At last year’s Summer Preseason event, we had several standouts from the event who have since committed to play at the next level, including Isaac Dirker (Howards Grove; Wisconsin-Milwaukee), Tyler Gaecke (Mukwonago; Wisconsin-Oshkosh), Teig Chase (Kettle Moraine; Wisconsin-Whitewater), and Jackson Mandella (Nicolet; McHenry County JC).

RHP Nicalas Wanker (Oak Creek; Wisconsin-La Crosse) is an example of a prospect who popped up at last year’s event, showing us, for the first time, his 88 mph fastball and three-pitch mix. He committed to Wisconsin-La Crosse in November.

We’re excited to see who’s going to be the next prospect to launch themselves onto the scene this Saturday.

Check-In Times:

Position Players: 1:20 to 1:40 p.m.

Pitchers: 3:20 to 3:40 p.m.

Infielders, Outfielders, Catchers:

• Stretching

• Running Times (Laser TImed 60 Yard Dash)

• Defensive Evaluations

• Offensive Evaluations (Exit velocity, mechanical analysis, on field BP)

Pitchers & Catchers:

• Stretching

• Bullpen Sessions

• Catcher's Evaluations During Bullpen
