Senior Games: Preview
September 20, 2018
On Sunday, Sept. 23, PBR returns to Kapco Park in Mequon, Wis., to host Senior Games, an invite-only event for 2019 talent looking for opportunities to play at the next level. There, the near 40 prospects attending the showcase will participate in a pro-style workout and a simulated game in front of our staff and the attending scouting community.

Going back to last year’s Senior Games, 24 prospects from the 2017 roster have committed to play college baseball, including OF Jaelin Williams (Eau Claire North; Waubonsee CC) and OF Josh Sobczak (South Milwaukee; Des Moine Area CC). It will be interesting to see which prospects leave Concordia University this Sunday having improved their chances at continuing their baseball careers.
Among those attending on Sunday is RHP Sam Killian (Independence; uncommitted). We just had the opportunity to see the 6-foot-4 righty in July at the Western Wisconsin Open where he displayed a live and loose arm that touched 84 mph. The offspeed in his repertoire is still a work in progress, but given his lanky build and projection, if the rest of his arsenal fills out he’ll be capable of putting together a successful collegiate career, too.
Joining Killian at Senior Games is INF Logan Mantz (Slinger; uncommitted), who, in our looks, has consistently put together some strong rounds of batting practice. He regularly produces line-drive contact from his simple, compact stroke. Defensively, Mantz has the arm strength to anchor third base, as well as the hands to make second base work as well.
Logan Mantz (7.24.18)
