Recruiting Roundup: Who's Heading Where?

Gunner Peterson, OF, Wilmot, 2018

Gunner PetersonFuture Games 2016 - 6-foot-1, 180-pound left-handed hitting outfielder, lean athletic frame. Left-handed bat has upside, barrel aware, disciplined approach, good hand eye. Bat path stays on top of the baseball, line drive approach with the ability to backspin the baseball, gap to gap approach. Hands work extremely well to generate bat speed, 97 mph exit velocity from the tee. 6.95 runner in the 60. Well above average corner outfield defender, possible centerfielder, actions play through the baseball in stride. Arm plays over the top, 86 mph.

Bradley

Paul StefiukFuture Games 2016 - Large frame, 6-foot-3, 200-pound right-handed pitcher. Over the top arm action, slight plunge on back side, gets hard tilt on fastball. Delivery works with slight effort, works out and around to closed landing. Fastball works downhill, good tilt, misses are typically down, works well to the bottom of the zone, sat 84-87 mph, touched 88 mph. Curveball is a 12/6 bender, flashed depth. As command to the bottom of the zone continues to improve he will continue to produce ground balls at a high rate.

Nolan Rebernick, RHP, Union Grove, 2017
Madison JC

Nolan Rebernick9.5.15 - Lean athletic right-handed pitcher. Represented Wisconsin earlier this summer at the PBR Future Games. High ¾ arm slot, loose arm. Showed the ability to pound the zone, pitched primarily off of a fastball slider combination. Fastball sat 82-84 early in game, settled in at 80-81 later with occasional 84’s. Showed good feel and confidence in the slider, 72-74 mph, 10/4 action, swing and miss capabilities.

 

Jet Weber, SS, Elkhorn Area, 2017
Indian Hills CC

Jet Weber2/21/16 - 5-foot-10, 140-pound right-handed hitting shortstop with a thin frame. Offensively hits from an open stance with a long stride back to event. Line drive hitter with fluid rhythm. 82 mph exit velocity from a tee. Defensively has a short arm action from an over the top arm slot. Plays thru the ball with quick footwork. Good body control and accurate throws. Threw 78 mph across the infield.

 

Eliot Turnquist, UTL, Columbus, 2017
Northwood University

Eliot Turnquist6.16.16 -5-foot-11, 155-pound, right-handed hitting utility player. At the plate hits from a balanced setup with a short leg lift stride and good balance. Line drive hitter with a short, level swing path and fluid rhythm. Showed strength thru contact with 84 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.26. In the infield has a short arm action from an over the top slot. Accurate throws with soft hands. Threw 83 mph across the infield. In the outfield has a clean exchange with accurate throws. Threw 85 mph from the outfield. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a long, loose arm action. Tall and fall, online delivery with good balance. Fastball sat 83-84 topping out at 85 mph for strikes. Curveball has 11-5 shape at 70-71 mph. Changeup flashed fading action at 75-77 mph.

Kiley Brown, SS, Germantown, 2017
McHenry County JC

Kiley Brown3/13/16 - 5-foot-11, 180-pound right-handed hitting shortstop. Defensively has a long arm action from a high ¾ slot. Accurate throws at 83 mph across the infield. Athletic actions, playing thru the ball. Offensively hits from a slightly open stance with a big leg kick stride and collapse on the backside. Long, uphill swing path. Showed strength thru contact with 87 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.46.
