Preseason Preview: Prairie Farm

The Wisconsin high school season kicks off on March 29, the first day for regular season games. Most teams will begin practicing on March 21, getting their rosters set and finalizing their lineups. Over the next several weeks, leading up to opening day, we will be rolling out team previews of high school teams all across the state and across all classifications, eventually launching our Preseason Power 25.

We have been sending out our annual Preseason Questionnaire to coaches all across the state and as the responses flood in we will bring you a snapshot of what to expect along with top players and keys to success for that particular team.

STAT RAT: 22
The number of stolen bases Justin Nelson and Mike Slagel each had last season. Nelson was a perfect 22-22 in stolen base attempts, he also led the team with a .360 average, and was named to first team all conference.

OUTLOOK
The Panthers will look to stop Bruce's 13 year reign atop the Lakeland East Conference in 2016. Last season they finished one game behind Bruce in an abbreviated conference schedule. They bring back over 80 stolen bases to a team built on speed and pitching. The staff is headlined by Jordan Seibert who went 5-3 with a 1.84 ERA. One of the keys to the season is cutting down on strikeouts in a lineup that doesn't include much power.
