Preseason Power 25 Countdown: No. 19 Lake Country Lutheran
March 16, 2016
The Wisconsin high school season kicks off on March 29, the first day for regular season games. Most teams will begin practicing on March 21, getting their rosters set and finalizing their lineups.
Over the next several weeks, leading up to opening day, we will be rolling out team previews of high school teams all across the state and across all classifications, eventually launching our Preseason Power 25.
We have been sending out our annual Preseason Questionnaire to coaches all across the state and as the responses flood in we will bring you a snapshot of what to expect along with top players and keys to success for that particular team. If you don’t see your team’s season preview make sure your head coach fills out his Preseason Questionnaire.

STAT RAT
54: The Lightning are returning five starters, and those five have played a whopping 54 combined state playoff games in their high school career.
OUTLOOK
Lake Country Lutheran is one of the most playoff tested programs in the state wining back to back titles in 2014 (D4) and 2015 (D3). The Lightning will be shooting for their third straight title, but will have to do so with a limited staff on the mound. The loss of Ben Wilkins and Kyle Lewis on the mound will hurt LCL and will have to replace 20 starts on the mound between the two. Offensively Coach Bahr will have a solid lineup to count on again in 2016. Last year the Lightning got in the habit of putting up double digit runs nearly every game, many of which ended after five innings. Coach Bahr hopes that the return of Hall (.426), Buran (.406) and Lipsky (.489) will solidify the middle of the order.
