No. 22 Green Bay Preble holds off De Pere

No. 22 Green Bay Preble 3, De Pere 1
DE PERE, WI – In a Fox River Classic matchup, No. 22 Green Bay Preble topped De Pere 3-1 in a pitchers’ duel between sophomore Will Conrad (Green Bay Preble) and Tyler Rouze (De Pere).
Preble jumped out to the early lead in the third with back to back hits capped by Kris Kastberg’s RBI single.
De Pere answered right back in their half of the third with a run of their own. Emmet Kulick led it off with a single and later came around to score on a Conner Rutherford ground rule double to right field.
With a 2-1 lead Preble added an insurance run on an RBI single off the bat of Ryan Dougherty who finished with a 4-for-4 day and two RBI.
Sophomore RHP Will Conrad came out as the victor, working 5.2 innings striking out seven and scattering four hits. Griffins Summers picked up the save in relief.
