TOP UNCOMMITTED
Cole Bensen RHP / Bay Port, WI / 2023Rankings StateRank: 35 / POS: 12
Athletic, well-proportioned 6-foot, 195-pound frame with room to add strength. Turned in a quality performance on the mound for ISA Royal in a playoff victory: 6 IP, 4 H, 0 R. Threw his fastball for strikes and generated weak contact, topping at 86 mph while pitching in the mid-80s. Continued to show advanced feel to spin a breaking ball around the zone and out of it, something we’ve seen from him in the past. Consistent performer that seemingly always finds ways to win; was a top arm on a Bay Port Pirates team that made it to the Wisconsin state playoffs. |
Cade Duffin 1B / Oswego , IL / 2023Rankings StateRank: 103 / POS: 3
6-foot-3, 240-pound frame that’s leaned out and added more muscle since our latest in-game look. Ultra-physical athlete that wields one of the loudest right-handed bats in Illinois. Bashed a ball off the center field fence in his first at-bat of the entire tournament and flashed true impact power at times as the weekend went on. Recorded a 108 mph max exit velocity at the Rhino Scout Day last September in BP off a TrackMan. |
Quinn Falish OF / De Pere, WI / 2023Rankings StateRank: 26 / POS: 5
Athletic, physically built 6-foot-2, 210-pound frame. Took the mound for GRB Rays - Green in the tournament’s opening slot and twirled a quality outing. Has cleaned up his operation and steadily sustained an uptick in velocity over the last six months. Fastball plays in the 85-88 mph range, peaking at 89 mph with feel for the zone. Spins a tight, firm mid-to-upper-70s slider and will sink a low-80s changeup, too. Also has intrigue as a position player; 6.82 60-yard dash, 97.5 mph max exit velocity, and topped at 93 mph from the outfield this winter. Former PBR Future Games prospect that’s a trending uncommitted follow in Wisconsin’s 2023 class. |
Easton Frazier RHP / Fayetteville, AR / 2023Rankings StateRank: 30 / POS: 7
Long, lean 6-foot-4, 185-pound frame with plenty of room for physical projection. Toed the rubber on the tournament’s first day for US Nationals MidSouth and showed upside stuff. Pumped his fastball at 84-88 mph from somewhat of a crossfire delivery. Spun a low-70s curveball and also featured a firm upper-80s changeup. Former PBR Future Games participant that’s one of the top uncommitted arms in Arkansas. |
Christian Graves 3B / Jacobs, IL / 2023Rankings StateRank: 60 / POS: 9
Oozes physicality and sheer strength attached to a 6-foot-2, 210-pound frame. Brings an imposing presence into the right-handed batter’s box. Thumped multiple balls to the deepest part of the Creekside fields throughout the weekend, working from a shorter and more compact stroke than we’ve seen in the past. Has also breached the 100+ mph max exit velocity mark multiple times at Illinois’ events. Projects as a true middle-of-the-order masher at the next level. |
Jack Grewe OF / Skutt Catholic, NE / 2023Rankings StateRank: 44 / POS: 5
Athletic, well-proportioned 6-foot-1, 180-pound frame. Looked the part at the plate throughout the weekend, elevating the ball from a short, uphill right-handed stroke. Kaden Griffitts OF / Williamsville , IL / 2023Rankings StateRank: 31 / POS: 6
5-foot-11, 180-pound left/left prospect that really looks the part in a uniform. Has been trending up after a strong start to the summer circuit. Athletic at the plate with bat speed and twitch, working on the barrel and creating leverage from a level path. Above-average speed that shows on the basepaths and in center field; 6.78 60. Former PBR Future Games participant and a high-follow uncommitted outfielder in the Illinois’ 2023 class. |
Ricky Howell RHP / Pendleton Heights, IN / 2023Rankings StateRank: 50 / POS: 17
Athletic 6-foot-1, 180-pound frame with strength throughout. Showed some of the tournament's loudest stuff on the mound. Reacheda 92 mph high with his fastball, ultimately settling into the upper-80s, and paired it with a tight upper-70s slider, too. Howell is a high upside arm with a loud two-pitch mix that’s a top uncommitted prospect on the mound in the Indiana 2023 class. |
Josh Katz RHP / Lane Tech, IL / 2023Rankings StateRank: 123 / POS: 41
Strong 5-foot-11, 180-pound frame. Took the mound for Top Tier Americans on Friday and showed his usual loud, low-effort stuff. Twirled a three-hit, complete game win. |
AJ Malzone C / St. Rita, IL / 2023Rankings StateRank: 44 / POS: 6
Athletic 5-foot-11, 190-pound frame with strength in the lower half. A top left-handed hitting backstop in Illinois that performed throughout the weekend for Top Tier Americans. Maintains a short, direct path to contact with gap-to-gap feel and occasional juice off the barrel. Owns high bat-to-ball skills and athletic hands to pair. Lean, wiry 6-foot, 160-pound with lanky limbs that project to add strength as he gets older. Took the mound for GRB Rays - Green and showed plenty of intrigue on the hill. Fastball sat 85-87, topping at 88 mph from a loose, easy operation that suggests more velocity is on the way. Feel to land a tight, firm upper-70s slider around the zone, could also profile as a swing-and-miss pitch if thrown at the glove-side corner of the plate. Former PBR Future Games participant and also earned PBR Wisconsin First Team All-State honors. |
