Madison Preseason I.D.: Catching Analysis

By Steve Nielsen
Scouting Supervisor - Wisconsin/Illinois

The Madison Preseason I.D. was one of the biggest events we've held in Wisconsin and the talent was plentiful. This week we will start to roll out positional analysis and today we start with the catchers. Freshman Jeff Holtz (Arrowhead) took the top spot. Already an Indiana commit, Holtz showed some of the best athleticism and upside at the event. His ceiling is huge and although nothing is guaranteed in projecting players, Holtz looks to be one of the premier catchers in the state. Sophomores Jamie DeWitt (Waukesha South) and Kyle Antos (Indian Trail) followed closely behind and look to be high level receivers with premium caliber bats.

Here's a look at all the top catching prospects.
