Prep Baseball Report's MN Preseason All-State event took place on Sunday, March 20, 2016. The event was held at the Vadnais Sports Center in Vadnais Heights, MN. The event featured prospects from the 2017 class from Minnesota and North Dakota who showcased their talents in front of our scouting staff. Thank you to the players, parents, my staff and the Vadnais Sports Center for such a great event.
There were a number of great individual performances this year at the MN Preseason All-State. Also of note is the fact that official high school practices don't start in Minnesota until the Monday after the event. Look for many of these player's numbers to continue to improve as they start playing and working into mid-season form.
As we drill down into the statistics:
+ 21 players ran sub-7.2 60's.
+ 33 players recorded 85+ mph exit velocities
+ 18 players recorded 80+ mph infield throws
+ 13 players recorded 80+ mph outfield throws
+ 15 catchers recorded 70+ mph throws to second base
+ 8 catchers recorded sub-2.1 pop times
+ 40 pitchers were 80+ mph on the mound

Riley Ahern, RHP/3B, Holy Angels, 2017
6-foot-3, 210-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. Body has improved; taller/ leaner with increased strength. Controlled delivery, drop and drive, clean arm action from ¾ slot, above avg. extension and finish to plate. Fastball had good run at 80-82 mph. Curveball was 68-70 mph with solid spin, shape, and late break. Flashed run on changeup at 73-75 mph. 8.5 runner. Square stance, front heel turn trigger, balanced stride, mid/pull approach with hard pull contact from line drive swing plane. 86 mph exit velocity. Solid feet and hands, avg. quickness, accurate arm to bag, clean arm action, 79 mph arm strength.
Conor Bachman, RHP, East Ridge, 2017
6-foot-4, 180-pound right-handed pitcher. #49 ranked player in MN 2017 class. Loose athletic actions in delivery. High leg kick with body control and good direction to plate. Clean arm action with solid hand speed. Above avg. extension to plate. Should continue to add velocity with strength gains and maturity. Shows ability to spot fastball well; throwing 78-81 mph. Curveball was 67-68 mph with 12/6 shape. Developing feel for changeup with solid arm-side run at 73-74 mph.
Marcus Bouley, RHP, Anoka, 2017
6-foot, 165-pound right-handed pitcher. #45 ranked player in MN 2017 class. Thin frame with loose body. Has cleaned up direction to plate, long draw on back-side, has to work to get up and over front shoulder tilt, elevated pitches occasionally, clean arm action. Fastball was 83-85 mph with solid life in zone. Sweeping action on breaking ball with late break and good arm speed at 74-75 mph. Developing feel for changeup at 70-74 mph.
Peyton Gallagher, RHP, Wayzata, 2017
5-foot-10, 180-pound right-handed pitcher. Simple mechanics. Stretch only. Minimal effort. One-piece arm action. Heavy cut action on fastball at 83-86 mph for strikes. Spins solid breaking ball with slider shape at 72-74 mph. Some down angle on changeup, thrown at fastball arm speed, with avg. fade. College reliever with ability to throw 3 solid offerings for strikes.
Cam Kline, OF/RHP, Forest Lake, 2017
5-foot-10, 175-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. #37 ranked player in MN 2017 class. 7.34 runner at this event. Athletic compact build. Defined lower half. Swings with intent, stays connected, short to contact, creates above avg. bat speed, gap to gap approach and stays on baseball through contact. 91 mph exit velocity. Good footwork and actions, also has ability as an infielder, right-field tools, well above avg. carry and accuracy to target with 88 mph arm from OF. Level head and shoulders in delivery, clean compact arm action, solid extension to plate. Solid life on fastball at 84-86 mph, repeats well in zone, and has varying run and cut. Slider shape on breaking ball, thrown with good arm speed, early break, lands in zone for strikes. Late run on firm changeup at 76-79 mph. One of better 2-way players in state, tools continue to improve, and is a strong follow in the 2017 class.
Hunter Koep, RHP/3B, Northfield, 2017
6-foot-3, 200-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. #13 ranked player in MN 2017 class. Strong build. Good balance and body control, some wrap on back-side of arm action, gets extended well out and over front leg. 85-86 mph fastball, touching 88 mph, has well above avg. late run. Good arm speed on curveball with tight spin and developing feel. Changeup was 78-80 mph for strikes with flat action. 7.18 runner. Open stance, strides square, pull approach, upper echelon pull power, consistent loud contact, 96 mph exit velocity. Late glove presentation, fields on heels occasionally, above avg. carry and accuracy on throws, 83 mph arm strength. Good high school player with big tools. Will only get better with college instruction.
Max Meyer, 2B/RHP, Woodbury, 2017
5-foot-11, 165-pound left-handed hitting 2-way player. #23 ranked player in MN 2017 class. 7.46 runner at this event. Tall stance, easy load, good weight transfer, line drive swing plane, drives ball well with gap to gap approach, 87 mph exit velocity. Light on his feet, solid actions, sure hands, above avg. arm with accuracy, 88 mph arm strength across infield. Strike throwing machine. Fastball was 86-87 mph with varying run and cut; with life. Slider and changeup are thrown from fastball slot/arm action. Slider is 75-77 mph with sweeping break and tight rotation. Above avg. fade and sink on changeup. Shows ability to throw 3 pitches in any count, competes well on mound, and continues to improve. One of better 2-way players in state.
Mitchell Oehme, RHP, Minnetonka, 2017
6-foot-5, 180-pound right-handed pitcher. Currently #46 ranked; will see jump in rankings. Has added considerable height and quality weight since July 2015. Velocity has increased from low 80’s to mid/upper 80’s in 8 months. Short path on back-side; arm is fast and clean out front. Shows best fastballs when he stays on top and drives downhill. Fastball was 84-87 mph; touching 88 mph. High release point on 11/5 breaking ball, shows ability to spin, and should improve with better extension on release. Cut action on changeup, extra firm, with ability to locate to glove-side.
Gabriel Pilla, RHP, Holy Angels, 2017
6-foot-1, 215-pound right-handed pitcher. Strong durable build. Slight tuck and turn. Keeps weight back over rubber well. Arm is fast and clean out front. Stays closed to target and explodes to plate. Fastball is very heavy, on a downhill plane, and fills up strike zone at 84-85 mph. Hard sweeping break on curveball, thrown with conviction, at 76-79 mph. Changeup moves through zone with cutter action at 77-79 mph. Projects to throw harder. Strong follow in MN 2017 class and will make significant jump into rankings.
Maxwell Ploof, 3B/C/RHP, Anoka, 2017
6-foot-3, 200-pound right-handed hitting player. 8.1 runner. Tall projectable build that will handle considerable weight and strength. Square stance, athletic set-up, short to contact, stays connected to well, good extension through contact, stays in middle of field with gap to gap approach, above avg. leverage and strength. 91 mph exit velocity. Good footwork, fields out front, solid range, soft hands with clean exchanges, follows throws across, good carry with accuracy to bag, 83 mph arm strength. Minimal experience behind plate, solid athletic actions, strength in receiving, very flexible for size, good hands with clean exchanges, long release on throws, 76 mph arm strength behind plate with 2.12 pop time. Accurate to bag with carry. Solid tempo and rhythm. Tends to rush to plate. Long arm action. Moderate effort with extension to plate. Fastball was 81-84 mph. Solid shape and spin on 11/5 breaking ball. Shows fade and developing feel for changeup. Will make significant jump into 2017 rankings.
Justin Reinkall, RHP/SS, Superior (WI), 2017
6-foot-2, 175-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. #34 ranked player in WI 2017 class. Sound balance point, drives off rubber, utilizes lower half well in delivery. Fastball shows life, comes cleanly out of hand, at 82-84 mph touching 86 mph. Tight spin on 11/5 breaking ball for strikes. Above avg. run and sink on changeup; thrown at fastball arm speed. 7.14 runner. Leg kick trigger, solid bat speed, line drive swing plane, mid/pull approach, top-half contact at this event, 82 mph exit velocity. Fields out front, sure hands, accurate throws with carry, long release, 83 mph arm strength.
Jordan Schramel, RHP/OF, Delano, 2017
6-foot, 178-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. #28 ranked player in MN 2017 class. Solid tempo and rhythm in delivery. Clean arm action with slight upright finish. Commands zone well. Solid life on fastball with late run at 79-82 mph. Curveball flashes depth with 11/5 shape at 68-71 mph. Above avg. action on changeup at 75-77 mph thrown with good arm speed. 7.37 runner. Loose hands, rhythm in swing, some lift at contact, flashes of pop when extended, gap to gap approach, 81 mph exit velocity. Corner OF actions, fields cleanly, long release on throws, solid accuracy to target. 83 mph arm strength.
Nate Shoemaker, RHP/OF, Minnetonka, 2017
6-foot-3, 190-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. #34 ranked player in MN 2017 class. Athletic frame. Solid present strength. Controlled coil over rubber, explodes well to plate, short arm action from ¾ slot. Above avg. life on fastball with heavy late sink. Fastball was 85-86 mph; touching 89 mph on his last pitch. Curveball has tight rotation with small break off the barrel at 72-74 mph. Has above avg. feel for changeup with fade and late action. Has made big strides on mound over last year. College reliever/closer type arm. 7.18 runner. Open stance, body load, inverted swing plane, hard contact to pull-side, mid/pull approach with 85 mph exit velocity. Moves well in OF, athletic actions, uses lower half in throws, solid accuracy to target. 88 mph arm strength.
Zach Smith, C/RHP, Rochester John Marshall, 2017
5-foot-11, 185-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. #26 ranked in MN 2017 class. Strong durable frame. 7.72 runner. Square stance, simple stride, stays connected in load and stride, controlled aggressive swing, short to contact, good extension through contact. Gap to gap approach with consistent hard contact and flashes of pull power. 86 mph exit velocity. Above avg. thrower to second. 78 mph arm strength with 1.95 pop time. Low set-up, flexible bottom half, solid receiver, some extra glove movement, good footwork with quickness, clean exchanges, clean arm path. Good carry and accuracy to bag with on-line throws. Controlled delivery, good balance and direction, and repeats mechanics well. Short arm action with above avg. command of zone. Fastball was 84-85 mph with late run. Slider shape and action on breaking ball with tight spin and depth. Changeup was kept in bottom of zone with run and fade.
Sam Thoresen, RHP, Minnetonka, 2017
6-foot-3, 190-pound right-handed pitcher. #16 ranked prospect in MN 2017 class. Up tempo delivery. Athletic stride and finish. Compact arm action, slight pause on back-side, clean and quick out front. Some downhill plane to fastball, thrown for quality strikes in bottom of zone, at 86-88 mph. Sharp 12/6 breaking ball thrown with good velocity and tight spin at 74-76 mph. Fastball arm action on changeup with solid fade, run, and sink- will be solid pitch vs. LHH. Has continued to make improvements and currently pitching well in high school season.
Jack Zigan, RHP, Eden Prairie, 2017
6-foot-1, 190-pound right-handed pitcher. Young frame- will handle 20+ pounds easily. Solid body control, drop and drive lower half, has direction to plate, arm is fast and clean out front. Fastball was 82-83 mph with cut action for strikes. Slider was 69-71 mph with short break in zone. Cut action on changeup at 70-72 mph. Projects to add velocity with maturity and strength gains. Solid follow in MN 2017 class.

Blake Anderson, RHP/1B, Alexandria, 2017
6-foot-3, 175-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. Short balance point, opens front hip early, lands open and falls off to first base side. Fastball is straight at 71-74 mph. Curveball has 10/4 spin and gradual break. Changeup was 61-63 mph. 7.81 runner. Knee to knee leg kick trigger, taller stance, arm bar in load, line drive swing plane, middle/away approach, 79 mph exit velocity. Active feet, usable glove, makes routine plays, solid around bag with footwork, short arm action, 69 mph arm strength.
Benjamin Arends, RHP/1B, Cretin-Derham Hall, 2017
5-foot-9, 195-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. Controlled delivery, decent body control, stays closed to target, with 2-piece arm action. Fastball was 77-80 mph for strikes. Curveball had 11/5 shape and gradual break. Changeup flashed late action at 71-72 mph. 8.62 runner. Square stance, double tap trigger, short to contact, lift at contact, solid contact with mid/pull approach, 76 mph exit velocity. Works through the baseball, solid footwork around bag, accurate throws to bases, 72 mph arm strength.
Jack Carlson, RHP/SS, Minneapolis Washburn, 2017
5-foot-11, 180-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. High leg kick, tuck and turn, coils over rubber keeping hips, direction to plate, short upright finish. Fastball was 82-83 mph with life for strikes. Curveball has 11/5 shape, lands for strikes, and flashes depth. Firm changeup, cut action, developing feel for zone. 7.66 runner. Taller stance, leg kick trigger, spray contact, short finish, 82 mph exit velocity. Above avg. arm with 87 mph arm strength. Long release on throws, avg. feet and hands, makes routine plays.
Dawson Degnan, 3B/C/RHP, Cretin-Derham Hall, 2017
6-foot, 175-pound left-handed hitting player with versatility. #48 ranked player in MN 2017 class. 7.5 runner. Square stance, deeper load, double tap trigger, hitterish, bat stays through zone, line-drive swing plane with ability to drive baseball to opposite field. 85 mph exit velocity. Good footwork in field, soft hands, fields deep occasionally, solid range, accurate arm and follows throws to target, 79 mph arm strength. High set-up, clean exchanges, quick clean arm action, solid carry on throws, needs better direction through plate. 72 mph arm strength with 2.03 pop time- accurate to bag. Simple rocker step, sound balance, with good direction plate. Clean arm action producing fastballs at 75-78 mph. 10/4 shape on breaking ball with tight rotation. Late run on changeup for strikes at 70-71 mph.
Danny Deis, SS/RHP, Wayzata, 2017
5-foot-10, 165-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 6.99 runner. Early stride, inverted C load, line drive swing plane, avg. pop in bat, mid/pull approach, 81 mph exit velocity. Works from ground up, fields out front, soft hands, good tempo, quick release, good carry with solid accuracy to bag, 82 mph arm strength across infield. Follow in 2017 class. Simple delivery to plate with short arm action and direction to plate. Fastball was 78-80 mph with varying cut and sink for strikes. Lands breaking ball for strikes with 11/5 shape. Flat action on changeup for strikes. Ability to play catch and throw 3 pitches for strikes.
Evan Furst, RHP, Mankato West, 2017
6-foot-2, 145-pound right-handed pitcher. Lean projectable build with long legs. Shows good body control, has direction to plate, and clean arm action from OT slot. Projects to continue to add velocity. Downhill plane to fastball, at 79-80 mph, with late cutting action. Curveball is thrown with good arm speed, small break, and loose spin. Cut action on changeup at 72-74 mph for strikes. Follow in 2017 class.
Andrew Hanson, SS/RHP, Burnsville, 2017
6-foot-1, 170-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. #50 ranked player in MN 2017 class. 7.22 runner. Closed stance, easy load, solid bat speed, gap to gap approach, consistent solid/hard contact, 87 mph exit velocity. 76 mph arm strength with carry to bag, sure hands, quick release, accurate arm, profiles as third baseman. Controlled delivery, high leg kick, foot outside knee, direction to plate. Pie arm action producing 78-80 mph fastball with cut. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with sharp break and solid depth. Changeup is firm and flat in zone.
Samuel Hanson, RHP, Rochester Lourdes, 2017
6-foot-1, 175-pound right-handed pitcher. Short draw on back-side with one-piece arm action. Lands hard across body. Locks off lower half. Keeps fastball in bottom half of zone with solid command at 81-83 mph. Sweeping action on curveball; thrown at 61-63 mph. Flat action on changeup at 66-68 mph.
Kyle Hayden, SS/RHP, St. Michael-Albertville, 2017
5-foot-10, 170-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.84 runner. Square stance, in-line stride, active load, spray contact, mid/pull approach. 77 mph exit velocity. Solid range in field, makes routine plays, sure hands, elevated throws to bag, 68 mph arm strength. Big rocker step, travels across rubber, lands across body, upright finish. Varies arm slot from low ¾ to sidearm. Throws fastball for strikes at 71-74 mph; touching 75 mph with slight cut. 10/4 breaking ball has above avg. shape and cut action. Knuckleball is above avg. with zero spin, good action, and is a usable pitch.
Zack Henderson, 2B/RHP, Shakopee, 2017
5-foot-9, 165-pound left-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.87 runner. Open stance, big leg kick trigger, stationary weight, rotational bat path, pull approach, 79 mph exit velocity. Active feet, sure hands, solid arm across infield with accuracy and carry to bag, 80 mph arm strength. High leg kick delivery, lands across body, short clean arm action out front. Fastball was thrown downhill at 78-79 mph with late run. Above avg. breaking ball with tight rotation for strikes. Avg. feel for changeup with slight action at plate.
Garrett Hendricks, 3B/RHP, Hudson (WI), 2017
6-foot-2, 160-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.47 runner. Pre-set hands and load, in-line stride, some tilt in set-up, uses whole field, solid contact, short to contact, 76 mph exit velocity. Active feet, stops when fielding, fields deep occasionally, accurate arm to bag, 78 mph arm strength. Uncontrolled lower half, short stride, out and over on release. Fastball was 74-77 mph with flat action. Loose spin on breaking ball with 10/4 shape. Slight action on changeup at 66-68 mph.
Ryan Hillman, RHP/3B, Coon Rapids, 2017
5-foot-10, 190-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. Tuck and turn delivery, good body control, cuts off finish. Fastball was 67-71 mph. Flat plane on curveball at 60-63 mph. Changeup had solid fade at 61-64 mph. 8.12 runner. Body load, balanced stride, middle of field approach, line drive swing plane, inconsistent contact, 75 mph exit velocity. Soft hands, fields deep and on heels occasionally, avg. carry on throws, 68 mph arm strength.
Joe Ihrke, SS/RHP, Henry Sibley, 2017
5-foot-9, 170-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.81 runner. Body load, aggressive swinger, loses posture at contact, falls back into swing, consistent solid contact, gap to gap approach, 83 mph exit velocity. Active feet, good footwork and angles, very accurate to bag, solid glove, 76 mph arm strength. Sound balance point, uses front side, clean arm action, lands hard across body, spins off to first base side. Fastball was straight at 77-80 mph. Side spin on breaking ball thrown with good arm speed. Changeup was firm with flat action at plate.
Evan Krhin, 3B/RHP, Park, 2017
6-foot-1, 205-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.4 runner. Square stance, short stride, active load effects timing and contact, mid/pull approach. Solid pop in bat. 80 mph exit velocity. Solid glove, avg. range, fields out front, accurate to bag, 74 mph arm strength. Deeper draw on back-side, hips open early, lands open to plate. Fastball was 75-77 mph for strikes. Tends to slow arm on breaking ball, 10/4 shape, with loose spin. Changeup was 57-59 mph with flat action.
Matt Laciskey, RHP/OF, Blaine, 2017
6-foot, 180-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. Coiled over rubber, back turn in delivery, clean arm action. Fastball was 79-81 mph with solid command of zone. 11/5 breaking ball with solid spin and shape at 64-66 mph. Occasional late action on changeup; over-thrown at times at 74-76 mph. 7.16 runner. Square stance, balanced stride, high finish through contact, uphill plane. 84 mph exit velocity. Solid footwork, avg./solid actions. Long release with quick arm. Above avg. carry with accuracy to target. 86 mph arm strength.
Kaylan Legred, C/OF/RHP, Blue Earth, 2017
5-foot-9, 145-pound switch-hitting utility player. 7.25 runner. Switch-hitter with similar mechanics from each side. Pre-set load, uncontrolled stride, aggressive swing, slashy flat swing plane. Mid/away approach LH; Pull approach RH. 77 mph exit velocity. Quick twitch, good flexibility, raw receiving at times, clean crisp exchanges, quick release, solid accuracy to bag. 71 mph throws to second with 2.13 pop time. Solid actions in OF, plays fast, aggressive routes, accuracy to target. 79 mph OF arm. Ability to change slots. Side-arm slot projects best. Life on fastball with command, crossfire delivery, at 76-78 mph; touching 80 mph. When he keeps fingers on top, 10/4 slider is an out-pitch, with sharp break and tight rotation for strikes. Changeup was 67-69 mph and usable vs. LHH.
Avery Lehman, OF/RHP, Coon Rapids, 2017
6-foot-2, 170-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 6.97 runner. Crouched set-up, short stride with balance, uphill swing plane, gap to gap approach, solid contact, 80 mph exit velocity. Avg./solid actions, good direction with feet, follows throws, solid accuracy, short arm action producing 85 mph arm strength. Controlled delivery, short on back-side, stiff shoulder on release. Fastball is thrown downhill, for strikes, at 80-83 mph. Shows feel for breaking ball; with 11/5 shape and avg. depth. Flat action on changeup at 74-76 mph.
Jack Linderbaum, 1B/RHP, St. Charles, 2017
6-foot-3, 260-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player.7.9 runner. Large strong build. Slightly crouched set-up, avg. weight shift, spin tendencies, good pop in bat, consistent solid contact, 92 mph exit velocity. Fields deep, makes routine plays, receives well around bag, short arm action, 71 mph arm strength. Controlled delivery, stays square to target, solid direction to plate. Pie arm action producing 75-78 mph fastballs with occasional run. Shows ability to spin breaking ball with tight rotation and 11/5 shape.
Nate Loch, RHP/1B, St. Michael-Albertville, 2017
5-foot-8, 165-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. Shows rhythm in delivery. On side of fastball; creating cutter type action to glove-side of plate at 72-74 mph. 10/4 breaking ball with late break for strikes. Above avg. fade and sink on changeup. 8.25 runner. Leg kick trigger, gap to gap approach, line drive swing plane, 79 mph exit velocity. Avg. glove and feet. Accurate throws to bag. 70 mph arm strength.
Tyler Long, OF/RHP, Woodbury, 2017
5-foot-9, 140-pound right-handed hitting outfielder. 7.1 runner. Lean frame. Square stance, simple swing, balanced stride, rotational shoulder load, pull contact, 70 mph exit velocity. Shows raw athleticism in OF, elongated arm action, leads with elbow, avg. accuracy, 70 mph arm strength. Long arm action, leads with elbow, with upright finish to plate. Fastball was 64-67 mph. Curveball was 49-51 mph. Changeup was 58-61 mph.
Eric Maas, RHP, Waseca, 2017
6-foot-3, 195-pound right-handed pitcher. Strong durable frame. Loads over rubber well. Limited use of glove side. Lands open to plate. Long pie arm action. Fastball was 81-82 mph with running action from arm slot. Good strength on curveball, thrown at 72-75 mph, with sweeping break to plate. Changeup had above avg. run and sink at 72-76 mph. Needs to improve some mechanical issues; but has some raw arm strength and is an interesting follow prospect in the 2017 class.
Brodie Paulson, 3B/RHP, Woodbury, 2017
6-foot-4, 200-pound left-handed hitting 2-way player. Projectable build. 7.4 runner. Aggressive swings, stays in middle of field, barrel exits zone early occasionally, line drive swing plane with clean path. 89 mph exit velocity. Fields out front, avg. foot quickness, solid arm strength, simple actions, avg. tempo, 81 mph arm strength. Controlled delivery, lands across body, explodes to plate with intent. Some wrap on backside of arm action. Fastball showed solid life at 81-83 mph. Lands breaking ball with tight spin and depth. Elevated changeup with stiff wrist at 74-75 mph. Interesting follow through spring; will enter MN 2017 rankings.
John Retterath, RHP, Minnetonka, 2017
6-foot-1, 150-pound right-handed pitcher. Lean frame. Slight collapse at balance point and in stride. Short 2-piece arm action. Solid extension/follow through to plate. Fastball showed avg. life at 77-79 mph. 11/5 breaking ball had avg. shape and landed short of plate. Changeup was 67-71 mph with flat action.

Simple swing, loose hands, solid contact, finds barrel, mid/away approach with 85 mph exit velocity. Solid actions in OF, works through ball, long release, clean arm action, solid accuracy and carry to target at 80 mph.

6-foot-2, 175-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.75 runner. Tall frame- room for added strength. Slightly crouched set-up. Spread stance with minimal stride. Flashes solid pop in bat to pull side of field. Gap to gap approach. 77 mph exit velocity. Solid actions in OF, long arm action, avg. accuracy to target. 80 mph arm strength. Loads over rubber well, clean arm action, lands on stiff front leg losing lower half power. Clean arm action producing 76-79 mph fastball, with above avg. command, and late run on 2-seam. Curveball has tight rotation, 10/4 shape, tends to over-throw at times, but should continue to improve and be an above avg. pitch. Keeps changeup in bottom of zone with good fade and run for strikes.

Tall fielding position, fields deep occasionally, solid glove, shows accurate arm across with 72 mph arm strength. Higher leg kick in delivery, tends to lose front side mechanics, clean arm action. Fastball was straight at 71-72 mph; touching 75 mph. Throws 11/5 breaking ball for strikes with avg. spin and shape. Changeup is firm with flat action.

6-foot-5, 205-pound right-handed pitcher. Tall physical frame. Rhythm and mechanics should improve as he continues to figure out body. Breaks early out of balance point. One piece arm action. Fastball was 69-71 mph; touching 73 mph. Sweeping break on curveball at 64-66 mph. Changeup was 66-68 mph.

6-foot, 165-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.44 runner. Square stance, collapse in swing, long stride, uphill swing plane, gap to gap approach, solid contact, 82 mph exit velocity. Light on his feet, solid actions, good glove, plays with good tempo, above avg. carry and accuracy to target, 81 mph arm strength. Collapse at balance point, lands across body, with upright finish. Short arm action. Fastball is downhill with slight cutting action for strikes at 77-78 mph. 12/6 curveball with big break; flashes as above avg. pitch. Changeup is firm and straight at 72-74 mph.

6-foot-7, 255-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. Large build. Good body control for size, deep draw on back-side, low ¾ slot. Fastball shows good run from arm slot at 73-74 mph. On side of breaking ball; causing flat action to plate. Flashes of run on changeup with ability to throw for strikes. Solid potential with size, low slot, and arm works enough. Could make strong strides between now and into college. 7.85 runner. Active load and stride, uses hands in swing well, mid/pull approach, inconsistent timing, decent pop in bat, 85 mph exit velocity. Receives ball well at first, big target, usable glove, works from ground up, long release on throws, 75 mph arm strength.
