The 2015 Labor Day Challenge will take place September 5 – 6 at Standard Bank Stadium in Crestwood, IL. This year’s event features five high level teams with prospects from around the state of Illinois and beyond.

Throughout the week we will bring you a quick preview as to what to look for out of the participating teams. Today we highlight the PTA Legends.

PTA Legends is a combination of the Prospect Training Academy in Wisconsin and the Lakeside Legends in Illinois. Both organizations are really strong in the 2017 class and will feature some highly ranked prospects in that class.

LHP Ryan Bader (Mukwonago, 2017), RHP Nolan Rebernick (Union Grove, 2017) and 1B Griffin Doersching (Greendale, 2017) all represented Wisconsin in the PBR Future Games and all are top 20 prospects in the state. The trio have been heavily recruited and should make some of the highlights of the weekend.

Also keep an eye on OF Stephen Mogged (Lakes, 2017). Mogged is a toolsy athlete who jumped the ranks this summer after seeing him at multiple tournaments and our 2017 Showcase in July. Mogged runs a 6.67 with an 88 mph arm from the outfield and could project to be a middle of the order type centerfielder.

Left-handed hitting catcher Jackson Petersen (Libertyville, 2017) could also see some attention this weekend. Both Mogged and Petersen are top 60 guys in Illinois.
