In the update preview we mentioned RHP Jack Washburn (Webster) as the highest ranked newcomer to the rankings at No. 9. For more on Washburn follow the link to the preview story above.
Next in the 2019 class is southpaw Connor Langreder (West De Pere). Langreder is a lanky 5-foot-11, 155-pounds that projects well. His long loose arm action produced an 80-82 mph fastball with late running action at the Southern Wisconsin Open.
RHP Hunter Rosenbaum, another Webster HS underclass arm, came in right behind Langreder in the top 25. A 6-foot-2, 175-pound righty, Rosenbaum also showed above average arm strength for his age.
Left-handed hitting C Jack Haufle (Oregon) impressed at a camp this fall. WIth a 6-foot, 150-pound lanky, projectable frame Haufle’s best tools are his bat and arm strength. At the plate he has a smooth left-handed swing with a line drive middle of the field approach. Behind the plate he showed off a strong arm popping 2.19-2.34 and throwing 75 mph from the crouch. He also showed off his arm strength from the outfield throwing 85 mph.
For more newcomers in the top 50 2019’s, here’s a quick look at a few more names that made the list.
Trent Ehlers (Sturgeon Bay) - LHP showed gains in his fastball this fall, up to 81 mph with a good changeup.
