By: Prep Baseball Wisconsin Staff

To cap off an eventful month of July, the Prep Baseball Wisconsin staff hosted the inaugural Wisconsin State Games at The Rock Sports Complex on Tuesday, July 30 and Wednesday, July 31.

The event housed many of the top committed and uncommitted prospects between the 2025-2027 classes. On Monday, our staff published the Positional Workout Day leaders in multiple categories. Numerous athletes enjoyed strong showings throughout the two-day event, many of which are highlighted, within.

TEAM GOLD

+ OF Niko Frangopoulos (Arrowhead, 2026) showed loose, quick hands with a short bat path and all-fields approach, staying aggressive through the ball. Frangopoulos paired above-average hitting ability with exit velocities up to 96 mph. Defensively, it’s athletic with steady hands, but the upside is in the bat.

+ RHP Eliot Roethle (Watertown, 2025; Bryant & Stratton commit) is a long, loose 6-foot-1, 175-pound athlete who showed well throughout his outing at The Rock, impressing in live looks throughout the spring and summer prior to his showcase appearance. Roethle’s FB touched 87 mph with life through the zone, spinning around the 2,400-2,500 RPM range. It was more of the same with two different types of BBs, each thrown for strikes. Roethle extends and drives down the mound, using his lower half in an effective fashion to maintain his velocity. The right-hander recently committed to Bryant & Stratton CC (WI) to continue his baseball career in the fall of 2025.

+ RHP Charlie Slawinski (Brookfield East, 2025) was one of the more impressive arms, working 84-86 mph with heavy run and some sink while working consistently to both sides of the plate. It’s a smooth arm path into a ¾ slot, landing slightly closed toward home plate. The Brookfield East-product also showed a slider at 72-75 mph and changeup at 80 mph. Slawinski is a quality arm who’s quite effective when working down in the zone.

+ C Maddux Lessard (Muskego, 2027), after a strong showing at the Prep Baseball Future Games just a couple of weeks ago, provided some of the loudest noise of the event, starting off with a strong BP session. Lessard is a strong, aggressive right-handed batter in a 6-foot, 185-pound frame, and looked the part as the No. 1 prospect in the Badger State’s 2027 class this past week. Lessard, after posting EVs in the mid-90s during BP, launched a double and a towering home run to the pull-side over the course of three games this past weekend. He produced loud contact and barrels down in Georgia, but wasn’t quite rewarded for it. Lessard made up for it at the Wisconsin State Games, continuing to establish himself as a name-to-know throughout the Midwest and beyond.

+ INF/RHP Brayden Steinbecker (Manitowoc Lincoln, 2025) worked with a high leg lift, landing slightly closed resulting in a deceptive cross-fire delivery. The ball jumps out of the arm at 83-85 mph, reaching 86 mph with heavy run. He also worked in a mid-70s curveball and changeup.

+ INF/RHP Nolan Meis (Lakeside Lutheran, 2025) provided an intriguing two-way look throughout the weekend, first posting a max EV of 95 mph during the BP portion of the event. On the mound, the right-hander continued to fill the strike zone after a complete game showing earlier in the summer. Meis drives down the mound and has a mature feel for a BB, used often in plus counts. The FB played in the mid-80s throughout, maxing out at 87 mph during live action. Meis is a competitor and strike-thrower, emerging as a rising uncommitted two-way prospect in Wisconsin’s 2025 class.

+ LHP Paxton Schuh (Kaukauna, 2026), coming off of injury, provided a quality look on the mound at the Wisconsin State Games, standing at an athletic 6-foot-2, 195-pound frame. Schuh recently performed at The Rock earlier in the summer, and was more of the same this past week. The left-hander reached 84.5 mph with the FB, striking out three batters while allowing zero hits over the course of two innings pitched. Schuh filled the strike zone at an efficient rate—staying ahead of hitters in the process. The to-be junior continues to develop his four-pitch mix, including a solid CB and CUT, proving to be an intriguing follow over the next year.

+ RHP Liam St. Denis (Wauwatosa East, 2025) is a strong 6-foot-1, 215-pound prospect who provided a quality three-pitch mix in a short stint, rushing his FB up to 86 mph. St. Denis was a winner from the summer, continuing to show well in front of our staff. His FB played in the mid-80s throughout his outing, in addition to a sharp, mid-70s SL that he landed for strikes on a consistent basis. The right-hander was able to garner swings and misses on the secondary pitch, as he rounded out his arsenal with a CH. St. Denis currently ranks at No. 102 in the class, enjoying a strong spring and summer on the bump.

+ INF Cooper Sievert (Wisconsin Lutheran, 2027) is an incoming-sophomore to keep tabs on from the State Games. The twitchy 5-foot-10, 167-pound athlete showed well in all facets of the game. Defensively, what stood out the most was how comfortable he was making plays on the move and how he trusts his hands. He also showed savvy baserunning when he got on-base, making high IQ decisions on the basepaths.

+ OF Chase Maika (Tremper, 2025) is a smooth-swinging left-handed hitter to know from the event. Standing in at an athletic 6-foot-1, 181-pounds, Maika got off some impressive swings on the second day of gameplay, while flashing athleticism out of the box as well. The incoming-senior is one to watch heading into the fall.

+ RHP Eli Dreier (Wisconsin Lutheran, 2027) gave an upside look on the mound during his brief outing on the mound. A 6-foot-1, 204-pound frame with strength throughout, Dreier is an easy mover down the mound with a long, loose and quick arm out of a high ¾ slot. His fastball sat 81-83 mph, topping out at 84.2 mph with ride through the zone. He mixed in a curveball with quality movement (avg. -10.6” HM) and a change-up that sat in the upper-70s throughout. A high-follow arm in the state’s 2027 class.

+ OF Connor Weeks (Big Foot, 2025) stands in a strong 5-foot-7, 179-pound frame. He showed well in-game, taking quality at-bats and fouling off pitches to create a tough out for opposing pitchers. The left-handed hitter posted a max exit velocity of 92.7 mph during the showcase portion of the event. Uncommitted follow from Wisconsin.

+ RHP Turner Dittrich (Arrowhead, 2026) is an intriguing arm to follow from the event. Listed at a long-levered 6-foot-7, 210-pounds, the right-hander creates some deception with his tall/fall delivery, releasing from a higher ¾ slot. His fastball played in the low-80s, topping out at 84 mph and paired with a mid-70s slider and changeup around 70 mph. High-ceiling arm to know in the state that attacked the zone in our look.
