Washington Rankings Update: Class of 2025

As the travel ball and summer circuit nears an end, Prep Baseball Washington unveils the latest 2025 Rankings Update.

From Summer ID events to our first ever PNW State Games, Prep Baseball staff saw hundreds of top high school prospects in the area throughout the summer months. Today, we start a three-week stretch of state rankings updates, and we begin with the class of 2025.

As always, the evaluation and rankings process is a fluid and ongoing ordeal, with multiple viewings needed to obtain the best feel for players abilities. It’s important to note that as players continue their development some show marked improvement at a much more rapid pace, and as a result will leapfrog other prospects in the list. This does not indicate that other players got worse or went backwards; this is simply the nature of player development. As the year unfolds, players make improvements and new prospects pop up on the radar expanding the Prep Baseball rankings universe.  In addition to the evaluations of players, our scouts, both those in Washington and nationally, have also had multiple discussions with each other to review our individual lists and attempt to make the most informed PBR ranking list possible.

Featuring a total of 200 prospects, the class of 2025 list showcases high top-end talent and a deep pool of productive players. Below is our top 10 list and scouting notes on some of the top risers within the 2025 class.

Top Risers

#6 2025 LHP Jonah Aase (Meridian)
Aase breaks his way into the top 10 after multiple standout looks on the summer circuit. Listed at 6'1 and 190 pounds, the lefty competes aggressively in the zone. Starting pitcher projectability with a true four pitch mix, shows feel for offspeed offerings even when behind in counts. FB consistently sat in the upper 80's, touching 91 with some natural run during looks at Area Codes and the NW Scout Games. Clean, repeatable arm action. One of the top incoming seniors currently uncommitted.

#19 2025 RHP Trevor Kaiser (Hanford/Washington)
A multitude of tools led Kaiser to the biggest jump in the '25 WA class. The 6'6 righty and recent UW commit flashed an exciting arsenal at a Scout Day earlier this summer. FB sat 88-90 with high spin from a lower slot release, giving the pitch added life. Partners FB with a CH/SL/CB combination, showing feel for locating the CH at the bottom of the zone consistently. Still room to grow in already strong, athletic frame.

#22 2025 RHP Bryson Leach (Tahoma/Gonzaga)
Leach climbs up to 22 thanks in part to a dominant PBR State Games showing last month. Steady growth shown from the spring into the summer. Sits in the upper 80's with his FB with a horizontally-breaking SL to partner with it. 6'1 frame with a steady wind into late intent through release with armspeed out front. Leach has a real chance to make another velocity jump and continue to rise in the rankings.

#44 2025 C Ryker Ruelas (Seton Catholic)
Another prospect with a strong Scout Day and State Games showing, Ruelas flashed in the summer circuit consistently as well. Lean frame and a plus athlete with a 6.85 60-yard dash time. Strong arm behind the plate with sub-2 second pop times. Intruiging tools at the dish with emerging strength. Longer, loopier bat path extends to meet ball out front, lifting to pull side with ease. Well-rounded game, will be an interesting follow.

#62 2025 1B Jacob Muench (Capital)
One of the biggest standouts at the PNW State Games, Muench is a bat-first prospect with loud barrels from the LH side. Generated a peak exit velo of 99.7 MPH in BP rounds with repeatable swing and found multiple barrels for extra bases in-game as well. Quality defender at 1B with potential to move to corner OF spot down the line.

#73 2025 OF/LHP Daniel Porras (Gig Harbor)
One of the toolsier showings at PNW State Games, Porras flashed some loud pop from the LH side while also running his FB up to 88 MPH on the mound. Pull power present at the plate with a 97.9 MPH max exit velocity and a 380 foot shot in BP highlighting the bat. Showed 4-pitch mix from compact arm slot as well, with spin rates showing another leap in stuff is possible. 6.98 runner in the 60-yard dash as well. Strong all-around showing.

#120 2025 OF Brady Miller (North Creek)
Athletic build from compact frame showed improvements since previous look in the winter. LH bat starts in upright, narrow stance, expanding to a direct bat path with head staying on the ball through contact. Can make the routine play defensively in the OF with quickness shown. 6.93 60-yard dash runner. Intruiging follow.
