Washington Rankings Update - Class of 2026

Dylan Grenz

As the travel ball and summer circuit nears an end, Prep Baseball Washington continues with our fall rankings updates. Today, we unveil our updated Class of 2026 Rankings.

From Summer ID events to our first ever PNW State Games, Prep Baseball staff saw hundreds of top high school prospects in the area throughout the summer months. This update marks the second week of our three week process of updating high school player rankings, and is updated in some part off of performances in travel ball and summer showcase events.

As always, the evaluation and rankings process is a fluid and ongoing ordeal, with multiple viewings needed to obtain the best feel for players abilities. It’s important to note that as players continue their development some show marked improvement at a much more rapid pace, and as a result will leapfrog other prospects in the list. This does not indicate that other players got worse or went backwards; this is simply the nature of player development. As the year unfolds, players make improvements and new prospects pop up on the radar expanding the Prep Baseball rankings universe.  In addition to the evaluations of players, our scouts, both those in Washington and nationally, have also had multiple discussions with each other to review our individual lists and attempt to make the most informed PBR ranking list possible.

Featuring a total of 130 prospects, the class of 2026 list showcases top-end talent with loud tools and an increasingly deep talent pool throughout the list. Below is our top 10 list and scouting notes on some of the top risers within the 2026 class.

Top Risers

#5 2026 OF Anthony Karis (Gonzaga Prep/Oregon State)
Karis works his way well into the top 10 after a standout spring and summer, solidifying himself as one of the top bats in the '26 Washington class. Flashed plus power in-game with a smooth, whippy right-handed swing. Plus batspeed and handspeed lead to big time exit velo's. Had a strong showing at PBR's Future Games event in Georgia, finishing the week 4-7 with 3 doubles. Athletic mover also ran a 6.86 60-yard dash and was clocked at 86 MPH from the outfield. Premier player in the area and recent Oregon State commit continues to rise.

#21 2026 RHP/INF Quade Gonzalez IV (Othello)
Gonzalez had a loud showing at the first ever PBR PNW State Games, with BP exit velo's in the 90's and several hard hit balls in-game. However, he stood out the most on the mound, where he sat 86-88 and was dominant in his shorter stint of work. Paired a live FB with a sharp SL, with spin rates for the offspeed pitch consistently 2400+ RPM. Smooth, athletic mover down the mound in 6'3 frame can easily make another leap forward in stuff next season.

#22 2026 LHP Neal Burtis (Tahoma)
Lean, medium framed left-hander makes a jump up the list after consistent velocity jumps across showcases in recent summer months. Lower slot release with some natural run gives added life to FB that sat in the upper 80's. Controlled, high tucked gloveside and repeatable deceleration post-release. Also sound in the outfield and with the bat. Solid athlete with frame capable of handling more strength.

#38 2026 LHP/OF Dashiell Story (Seattle Academy)
Story, a 6'1 lefty, bursts up the rankings after a loud PNW State Games showing on the mound. FB sat 83-85 MPH, topping at 86 MPH. Starter upside moving forward with a true 4-pitch mix, a CH/SL/CB combination. Ability to kill spin on CH and ramp up spin on breakers. Solid athlete also ran a 7.04 60-yard dash and has had flashes with the bat from the LH side as well.

#64 2026 OF/LHP Braden Perry (Woodinville)
Another quality all-around player that impressed in multiple looks this summer. 6.98 runner in the 60-yard dash with speed that translates to the outfield. LH bat starts with hands separated from body and generates consistently loft with a firm front side at contact. On the mound, features a FB 81-83 MPH with a plus CB with a max spin rate of 2500 RPM. Carried over tools to a solid showing at PNW State Games.

#85 2026 INF/RHP Jay Heath (Redmond)
Heath flashed intruiging upside at PBR's Bellevue Summer ID on both sides of the ball. Tall, wiry build with some twitch present. At the plate, works from upright, narrow stance into a toe-tap load to widen base at contact. On the mound, topped out at 85.4 MPH with 2300+ RPM's on his heater, partnered with a CH/SL/CB mix. Another already solid athlete with room to fill in frame that could lead to another jump in metrics.
