Today, we spotlight three class of 2027 pitchers to keep an eye on moving forward. Each of these sophomores are coming off of strong freshman high school seasons on the mound, and each should be set up to make big leaps this coming spring. Declan Crawford RHP / Edmonds Woodway, WA / 2027

From 6/13/24: ..."Young arm has an easy operation showed potential in multiple looks this spring. FB was up to 85 in an appearance in the state semi's in Pasco, with a SL in the low 70's to partner. Repeatable delivery with consistent arm action. Very even keeled demeanor and impressive maturity for underclassman status. Can be an elite arm talent with continued added strength to frame and ability to fill up the zone."

Akoni Nazarino RHP / Kentridge, WA / 2027

From 6/13/24: ..."Stocky RH arm was a workhorse for Kentridge, totaling 46 innings of impressive work. Controlled delivery from wind up with late intent and a balanced finished. FB sat 83-85 in winter workout with a CH/SL/CB mix to partner. Extends out front and stays behind the ball well, creating added leverage over a strong lead leg. Arm strength translates to the infield."

Leyton Hurley C/RHP / University, WA / 2027

From 8/10/24: ..."Another exciting underclassman with versatility. Defensively shows impressive quickness with some arm strength behind the plate, resulting in sub-2 second pop times. Up to 84.2 MPH on the mound, partnered with a steady breaker and CH with some natural run. Easy, smooth operation, could easily see jump in stuff with a solid offseason. Offensively hits from a strong, balanced set-up with a tight, compact swing and low 90s EVs. Chance to produce consistent gap to gap power"
