AT THE TOP

#1 2025 INF/RHP Xavier Neyens (Mount Vernon/Oregon State)
The top ranked 2025 prospect in Washington and the 8th ranked in the class nationally, Neyens had a busy summer circuit that further solidified his status as an elite offensive talent. From playing in the Prep Baseball All-American Game, to looks at the 18U USA Trials, with an Area Code Games showing as well, Neyens showed out in multiple looks. Previously a multi-sport athlete, Neyens is now solely taking this winter to train for what should be an exciting 2025 baseball season.

Shooter Hunt, from 7/22/24... "Neyens was already highly regarded as a slamdunk Day 1 prospect heading into the summer, but this look provided even more clarity as to how high his ceiling might be. At 6-foot-4, 205-pounds with a track record of success on the national circuit, his hitter-profile is sure to be craved by professional clubs next July. The preeminent moment of these USA Trials that every person in attendance will walk away remembering is sure to be the eviscerated, majestic home run that the left-handed slugger belted in his first plate appearance that traveled 440 feet at 108 mph.

One of the more impressive movers through impact, everything works together from the ground up with a knee-knock stride providing a sturdy build up of the lower-half along with an innate hands load deeper down and back into a power position. The electricity of the bat speed provides thunderous impact as Neyens stays impressively behind the ball before finishing heavier on the back side with considerable torque throughout. His plus-power is sure to be widely known, but the ability to keep the bat in the zone and drive to the back side is even more enticing."

#2 2025 RHP/INF Mason Pike (Puyallup/Oregon State)
Another high-end Washington talent with a busy summer, Pike showcased his versatile game with two-way upside in multiple looks throughout the year. At the 18U USA Trials, Pike had one of the louder showings on the mound from a metrics perspective, and flashed real upside as a switch hitter as well. The 2024 Prep Baseball High School Player of the Year is poised for a big time 2025, as he will lead the perennial powerhouse Puyallup High School while continuing to generate day one draft buzz.

Shooter Hunt, from 7/22/24... "A fierce, albeit quiet, competitor, there is some freaky athleticism to what Pike does on the diamond which includes some loud carrying tools on both sides of the ball. A switch-hitter who is a natural left which is clearly seen in workouts and gameplay, his heavy barrel gets turned on an uphill plane with future power potential and an overall well-rounded stroke. Likely an offensive second or third baseman, the bat would more than warrant a follow from area scouts throughout the spring were it not for the explosive electricity that he displayed on the bump to force those same scouts to routinely make it to every start day.

Pumping out the hoppy-est fastballs of the week at 94-96 with more than 2800 (!!!) rpm, Pike’s semi-hook/stab in the back was somewhat forgotten as he repeated a near over-the-top slot with ease while showcasing a polished, athletic delivery. Featuring a firm, true-slider at 85-87 and flashing signs of a quality changeup at 83 mph, the talented right-hander holds some starter upside, and demonstrated a propensity for applying the pressure early on in counts with a potential plus-plus fastball. Short stints and looks will likely not do Pike any justice, but the look of a Day 1 talent is clearly there, and his name is sure to be buzzed about next spring, especially given how good the PNW draft class appears to be."

#3 2025 INF Teddy Tokheim (Lakeside/Stanford)
Tokheim had multiple summer looks at Area Codes and the PNW Scout Games, where he showed his continually maturing tools. The Stanford signee has a quality all-around game and should be one of the more imposing high school bats in the state moving into his senior season.

Dylan Grenz, from 8/21/24... "The physical righty flashed loud tools despite some tough in-game luck, barreling several balls to the deepest part of the yard for long outs. Clear projectability to dream on in already strong 6'3 frame. Quiet, composed setup creates separation easily into load. Creates leverage and batspeed through the zone with quick hands and high finish. Generated backspin and ideal ball flight consistently in BP rounds.

Defensively, Tokheim showed all the present skills needed to stay on the dirt, with the bat likely dictating where he ends up long term. Showcased soft hands in limited in-game action with enough arm strength to stay on the left side."

New Additions

#166 LHP Thomas Wood (Eastlake/Bellevue College)
Crafty lefthander with a true starter profile. Repeatable operation with a long, loose arm path.  Changes speeds consistently with two distinct breaking balls, a changeup with some fade and a fastball that plays to all parts of the zone. Has shown some steady velocity gains, typically sitting in the low 80's with his FB, with plenty of room to fill out in lean 6'4 frame.

#170 Ross Kelley (W F West/Lower Columbia)
Strong summer showing at the Seattle Summer ID - Session II. Solid athleticism, ran a 7.03 60-yard dash time. Carries a heavy bat through the zone that found the barrel consistently in batting practice rounds, averaging an 86.5 MPH exit velocity. Makes the routine play defensively, moving well in either direction.

#177 Will Balcom (Tri Cities Prep)
Had a big home run at the 2024 PNW Senior Games in October that highlighted his fall. Physicality present in 6'2 strong frame. Moves quickly through swing with easy bat and hand speed, with a peak bat speed of 80.1 MPH and hand speed of 25.6 MPH. Moves well defensively for size, should be able to stick in a corner infield spot at the collegiate level.
