Washington 2025 Rankings Spotlight: Newcomers

Dylan Grenz
Associate Scout

Recently, PBR Washington concluded our three week stretch of summer rankings updates, unveiling player lists for three different high school classes. Lists were updated after getting looks of prospects at PBR Summer ID events, Scout Days, and our first ever PBR PNW State Games

For the 2025 class specifically, there was plenty of movement throughout the rankings, as well as an expansion on the back end to 200 prospects.

Today, we highlight three arms that are making their 2025 rankings debut after attending a PBR Washington event.

Newcomers

Tate Swanson RHP / Mount Si, WA / 2025

Lean, athletic RHP with long 6'3 frame. Works from 1B side of the rubber from full wind. Deliberate paced delivery, head remains quiet and on target throughout. Lower leg lift as hands break below the letters. Lower slot release gives added life to FB. Repeatable finish. FB consistently sat 85-86 MPH with a SL/CH secondary combination. Lower spin on offerings partnered with frame suggest more velocity could be in the tank.

Harrison Hoffarth LHP / Columbia River, WA / 2025

Stocky LHP works with wide base from full wind. Plant leg ends on 3B side of rubber. Steady delivery, some deception present with some funk post hand break. Shorter stride with strong lead leg block. 3/4 slot release. FB sat 85-88 MPH, topping out at 88.5 MPH. CH had low spin, sitting 80-81 MPH with some natural sink. SL sat 70-73 MPH, keeping hitters off-balance.

Jack Burkhardt RHP / Tenino, WA / 2025

Tall 6'6, 210 pound frame creates imposing mound presence. Works from wind, keeping tall posture throughout. Simple wind with high leg kick as hands break above the letters. Compact arm slot with some deceptive arm speed. Compact, over-top release with loose gloveside follow. FB sat 83-86 MPH, topping out at 88 MPH. SL sat 70-72 MPH, with longer, loopier horizontal action. Plenty more in the tank, intruiging arm.
