Eastside Catholic vs O'Dea (4.18.24)
Eastside Catholic
'25 RHP Will Crain, Washington Commit
Found command after battling early, turning in an impressive performance against one of the top offenses in Washington. Featured FB 82-85 T86, SL 68-72 and an occasional CH 78-80. Hands break at belt into swinging action with longer arm path. High 3/4 release with late life on FB. Used SL in all counts, keeping hitters off balance. Long limbed, projectable frame. Final line: 6.2 IP, 2 H, R, 2 BB, 8 K.

'24 INF Rowin O'Connor, Gonzaga Commit
O'Connor paced the Eastside Catholic offense with a pair of hits Thursday. Tall, lean frame. Very repeatable RH swing with line drive approach. Balanced setup with hands stacked over rear shoulder. Base widens with low leg lift, bend in levers with a firm front side at contact. Smooth actions defensively at 3B, showcased tools to become an above average fielder. Should be an important offensive piece for EC down the stretch.

'24 1B Jack Stearns, Uncommitted
The tall senior provided a clutch knock early in the game Thursday and flashed some intruiging tools. RH batter with wide, balanced base at stance. Weight shifts to rear leg in load. Tall posture through swing, rides the backside through upward swing path. Makes the routine play in the field.

'25 SS/2B Zack Sieger, Uncommitted
A staple at the top of the lineup for the Crusaders, Sieger affected the game with productive at bats and solid MIF defense. Quiet, slightly open stance with hands stacked vertically. Extends and meets ball out front through contact. Athletic frame. Quick first step and soft hands in field with compact release. Uncommitted junior to watch.
O'Dea
'25 OF Jordan Holloway, Washington Commit
One of the more projectable players in the class due to size and athleticism, Holloway flashed his tools Thursday. Easy gap power shown with double lifted the other way. Toe-tap load with short hand path to ball in RH swing. Quick mover on basepaths and in the field. Glides in routes in CF with plus jumps. A player to watch in an O'Dea lineup with talent throughout.

Shorter, repeatable leg lift with long, loose arm action. Quickness through release with upright finish. Controlled, tucked gloveside follow. Tall frame projects.

'24 3B/DH Jed Stange-Tregear, Maryland Eastern Shore Commit
Bat-first prospect with strong, compact frame. Wide base with weight stacked over rear leg. Showed ability to change approach with two strikes, but has ability to create loft in swing as well. Plays hard. Should be an important middle of the order bat for the remainder of O'Dea's season.
O’Dea evened things up at 1-1 in B1 after this RBI single from ‘24 Jed Stange-Tregear (@odeabaseball/@UMESHawkBase) but that would be the only run on the night for the offense @JedST2024 does a nice job with 2 strikes here. No stride. Widens base. Simple bat to ball approach pic.twitter.com/9nA0GhNhA6

'25 2B/SS Davonn Abaga, Uncommitted
An underrated piece to the Irish's success this season, Abaga's gritty game was on display again on Thursday. Quick-twitch athlete with speed in all directions. Soft hands and very quick release in MIF. Instinctive baserunner with ability to take extra base. Smooth RH swing with flatter approach and long finish. An intruiging player with pieces that can translate.
