This winter, Prep Baseball Washington is reflecting upon their showcase circuit and highlighting standout performers. Today, Prep Baseball continues our State Games Spotlight series, specifically looking at players that participated in this year's Pacific Northwest State Games. These spotlights are meant to showcase players that Prep Baseball Scouts felt showed standout tools, large improvements in overall game, or potential upside moving forward at the summer's biggest event. College coaches and recruiters should be sure to keep an eye on these prospects in the coming months.

Today, we spotlight 2025 RHP Jack Burkhardt. The tall 6'6 athlete had multiple strong showings on the mound this season, first at June's Portland Summer ID and later at the PNW State Games. Both showings came after a dominant high school season in which the righty had a sub-2 ERA in nearly 50 innings pitched.

Burkhardt features a high slot release with a shorter arm action, utilizing his frame well. The righty showed the ability to add and subtract with the fastball as well as two distinct breaking pitches. With plenty of projectability still in the frame, Burkhardt will be an interesting follow moving forward.
