Prep Baseball Report

Seattle Summer ID - Quick Hits

Dylan Grenz
Associate Scout

Last week, Prep Baseball staff hosted the Seattle Summer ID at Island Crest Park in Mercer Island, WA. Featuring prospects in the 2025-2028 classes, players from across the state participated in this showcase-style workout. The event included unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art technology partners and in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball staff.

Summer ID events serve as an important tool for both PBR scouts and college recruiters, who will subsequently create lists of prospects to follow as they plan their remaining summer coverage. We often tend to see prospects' best showings in summer ID events, as players are fresh off playing for their respective high schools and are in the routine that consistently playing in-game offers. Standout performances can lend invites to some of the summer's top events, including the PBR Pacific Northwest State Games.

Today we share our Quick Hits, which include scouting notes and video clips of some standout performers at our Seattle Summer ID event. Prospects are listed alphabetically by last name.

Quick Hits

Strong, stocky 6'1 frame had strong BP rounds, flashing pull power consistently. Starts in a slightly open stance with weight stacked slightly on back leg. Toe-tap load into wider base with strong levers through contact. Creates leverage through contact and found hard contact with quick barrel through the zone. Fundamentally sound behind the dish with consistent pop times. Also up to 83.3 from the mound from the RH side.

Standout prospect physically for age in 6'1, 195 pound strong frame. Relaxed setup at the plate. Explosive, quick hands to contact. Ball jumps off the bat when in sync mechanically. Smooth mover in the OF with easy juice in arm. Simple, smooth operation from the mound with a three pitch mix, including a fastball topping out at 80 mph. Impressive tools for age.

'25 SS/2B Liam Finney (Woodinville)
Medium frame, athletic build ideal for middle IF. Some twitch in movements with 7.08 60 time. Barrel rests on rear shoulder horizontally with high back elbow in balanced, quiet stance. Flatter swing path with ability to hit to all fields. Quick mover laterally with room to grow in arm strength.

'25 SS/3B Jaxon Fitzgerald (Kennedy Catholic)
RH had a solid overall showing coming off of an impressive HS season. Lean strength present in tall, athletic frame. Long-limbed operation at the plate with upright stance into simple load. Hands quick to ball and creates loft consistently. Firm front side at contact with abbreviated swing finish. Frame projects to corner infield defensively with room to grow into frame. Present arm strength to make throws across the diamond.

'27 INF Ryan Judge (Curtis)
Standout performer at the plate with mature tools for underclassman status. Balanced setup at the plate with hands stacked horizontally over rear shoulder. Leg lift load while hands remain quiet. Meets ball out front and extends through contact with firm front side. Long two-hand finish. Gets into proper fielding position consistently and moves well laterally with plus arm for age. Underclassman prospect to watch, carries himself with assuredness and confidence.

'26 RHP Kaiden Kingsley (Monroe)
Ideal frame for a young arm with 6'3, 170 lb build. Sets in slightly closed stretch position. Hands break early with leg lift. Long strider, uses frame to work downhill well. High 3/4 slot release with tucked gloveside follow. More juice available with added strength in lower half. FB/CB mix.

'26 3B/RHP Sam Kok (Lynden Christian)
