Prep Baseball PNW Staff

Recently, Prep Baseball staff hosted multiple Fall ID events across the PNW. On Sunday October 13th, Prep Baseball hosted the Pacific Northwest Fall ID, and on Thursday October 17th, the Seattle Fall ID. Both ID's featured prospects in the 2025-2028 graduating classes across Oregon and Washington. These events featured unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art technology partners and in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball staff.

Prep Baseball ID events serve as an important opportunity for prospects in a variety of facets. Prep Baseball scouts use ID event looks to help form state rankings lists, generate scouting reports, and to highlight standout performers via articles or social media posts. College recruiters may also use Prep Baseball events to find players for their roster or to create follow lists for the subsequent season. Prep Baseball events offer unrivaled exposure via data, metrics, and video technology.

Pacific Northwest Fall ID (10.13.24)

'26 RHP Braylon Edwards (Richland)
Lean strength present in 6'1 frame. Works from abbreviated wind with quick pace from center of the rubber. Slightly closes hips with lead leg land. Long, loose hand break, some deception with high back elbow starting arm action to throw. Featured three pitch mix with FB/CH/SL. FB released from 3/4 slot, giving natural arm side run and sitting 81-83 MPH. CH flashed as strongest secondary with heavy sink as well.

'26 1B/OF Scott Johnson (Camas)
Strong-framed 6'2 athlete ran a 7.29 60-yard dash. At the plate, features narrow, slightly open stance with quiet hands. Maintains narrow posture with weight loaded over rear side. Quick, sudden barrel through the zone. Plus batspeed, peaking at 77.2 MPH with explosive hands as well. Max exit velo of 92.4 MPH. Showed versatility defensively, making routine plays in the infield despite previous looks as an outfielder. 

'28 INF/RHP Collin McGowan (Battle Ground)
One of the most advanced games in the area, both in physical maturity and overall skillset, McGowan impressed throughout the event. RH arm filled up the zone with four-pitch mix. FB sat 82-84 MPH, with a firm CH in the high 70's and two distinct breaking balls in the low-mid 70's as well. Loud rounds of BP, showcased real bat and hand speed through the zone. Strong at and through contact with a firm front side and fluid operation. Tools flashed easily, will be a must-follow in years to come.

'27 INF/RHP Cooper McGowan (Battle Ground)
A top-10 2027 graduate in WA, McGowan showed a smooth all-around game. At the plate, showcased balanced RH swing with line drive, pull-oriented approach. Found the barrel consistently, peaking at 92.1 MPH and averaging an 86.7 MPH exit velo. Plays with confidence defensively, with soft hands and ability to move in all directions with ease. Plenty of arm to stick on the LH side of the diamond. 7.3 second runner. Plenty of room to grow into frame, could be poised for even more jumps in metrics.

'26 1B Brody Whitcomb (Caldera)
Imposing 6-4, 200 pound frame. Big time pop at the plate, hit multiple balls out in BP to the pull side with ease. Elite level batspeed helps generate power, peaking at 89.3 MPH. Loopy LH swing is a difference maker when on time and in sync. Max EV of 99.2 MPH with the furthest HR traveling 394 feet. Some athleticism at 1B, moves feet and attacks ground balls. High upside prospect.

'26 RHP/INF Jace Willett (Century)
Tools flashed on both sides of the ball from 6'2 athlete. Jerky delivery on the mound with limbs coming downhill and late intent. FB topped at 86.1 MPH, sitting 82-85 MPH throughout. CH/CB/SL combination as secondary offerings. Simple RH swing at the plate, with some natural strength leading to power to the middle of the field. Max exit velocity of 97.3 MPH. Some overall rawness to game but plenty of potential shown throughout.

Seattle Fall ID (10.17.24)

‘26 RHP Jayden Bury (Woodinville)
Lean, wiry frame with a wider upper half and athletic trim. Hyper mobile type athletic who flows through delivery and really rotates through his core easily. Elastic arm with loose, whippy path and an aggressive finish out front. Generates impressive arm speed which bodes well for future gains. Athletic decel with ability to rotate around front hip. FB topped at 83.3 with up to 2370 rpm while pairing with a quality SL and CH. Really intriguing arm talent to keep an eye on. Uncommitted. 

‘27 OF Austin Catini (Mount Si)
Polished bat to watch in the ‘27 class who impressed throughout BP with a balanced, simplified approach and consistent hard contact. Hits from a relaxed stance with a subtle forward move that allows hands to work freely and easily. Quality size with some present strength that works in the OF. Solid arm strength with speed underway as a runner. Uncommitted.

‘26 INF Kole French (North Thurston)
Led all 2026 prospects at the event with a top EV of 96.5 mph in BP while showcasing exciting bat speed and rotation numbers. Quieter set-up with a slow, gathered load before showcasing quick, powerful hands. Presently gap to gap power with a level, line drive approach. Lean strength throughout frame. Athletic actions work on the INF & he has the movements to handle multiple positions. Uncommitted.

‘25 OF Brady Miailovich (Ballard)
Ran the quickest 60 of the event with a smooth 6.95. Showcasing a longer gait with quality speed underway. Moves well in the OF with developing arm strength. Offensively made a significant jump from our previous look and has packed on added strength. Peak EV up to 93.6 mph with bat speed topping at 73.7 mph and exceptional rotation acceleration at 22.4 g. Uncommitted. 

‘26 INF Troy Robinson (Roosevelt)
Emerging INF prospect to watch in the class. Noticeable strength gains have led to an overall increase in offense output both with peak EV and avg EV. Sprayed hard contact from gap to gap with a tight, compact swing with a lofted finish thru contact. Quick, active feet on defense. Plays low to the ground easily and maintains tempo through the play. Chance to stick on the dirt long-term. Uncommitted.

‘25 C Trevor Snow (Liberty)
Snow put together consistent rounds of BP with repeatable line drive ball flight and flush contact. EV topped at 94.7 while maintaining an avg of 88.7 mph. Tight, short path to the ball with strength at point of impact. Quality actions behind the plate at C with ability to receive. Intriguing bat to watch in the class this upcoming year. Uncommitted. 

‘27 OF Hudson Thom (Tahoma)
Put himself on the map with a loud performance to finish up the fall and is an exciting prospect to watch in the sophomore class. Athletic build with present strength with a speed/power combination that fits ideally in the OF. Registered a 6.97 in the 60 & paired it with the top EV at the event with 97.3 mph. Features a smooth, fluid stroke from the left-side with ample plate coverage and late extension after contact. Checks the boxes of an offensive OF prospect with chance to have power from the left-side. Uncommitted. 

‘25 C Shinta Van Tassel (Ingraham)
Stronger, stocky frame at 5’10, 185 with durable build. Posted quality workout numbers across the board with a 2.00 pop time and 76 mph arm strength from catcher while running a 7.16. Offensively drove the ball pull-side with consistent lift and a top EV of 93.5. Bat speed projects well for future power. Profiles well as left-handed hitting C with power potential. Uncommitted.
