Class of 2025 Player Rankings Update (May 2024)
May 22, 2024
As the Washington high school baseball season nears an end, it is time for a player rankings update. This spring, Prep Baseball Staff saw hundreds of players, and saw several standout performers throughout. Today, we start a three-week stretch of state rankings updates, and we begin with the class of 2025.
As always, the evaluation process is a fluid and ongoing process with multiple viewings in order to get the best feel for players abilities. It’s important to note that as players continue their development some show marked improvement at a much more rapid pace. That doesn’t indicate that other players got worse or went backwards, it’s just how player development works. As the year unfolds, players make improvements and new prospects pop up on the radar expanding the Prep Baseball rankings universe. In addition to the evaluations of players, our scouts, both those in Washington and nationally, have also had multiple discussions with each other to review our individual lists and then make adjustments based on what we've each seen.
Featuring a total of 175 prospects, the class of 2025 list showcases high top-end talent and a deep pool of productive players. Below is our top 10 list and scouting notes on some of the top risers within the 2025 class.

Top Risers
#7 2025 C Truitt Madonna (Ballard/Washington)
Uber physical prospect stood out in a big way, breaking into our top ten class of 2025 prospects. Generates significant bat speed. Present power and still projects to add more strength. Multi-sport athlete with natural movements. Moves very well for size behind the plate. Gets out of stance with clean transition.
#36 2025 RHP Coltyn Clark (Rogers/Lower Columbia)
Smooth operation from the right side with a true four pitch mix. Medium, athletic frame. FB sits in the upper 80's and has touched 90 in some looks. Tight, low 80's slider is primary secondary, with a low 70's curveball and upper 70's changeup. Fastball has ride up in the zone and plays in all quadrants. Shows feel and control with breaking pitches.

FB 83-87
CB 66-70

CH 76-80

#50 '25 RHP Cody O'Donnell (Eastlake)
After a strong showing at our Preseason All-State, O'Donnell put together a huge year for Eastlake as he saw a substantial increase in opportunities, especially on the mound. The polished righty commands a low-to-mid 80s FB to all quadrants of the zone with easy, repeatable effort and has feel for both his CB/SL whenever he needs it. Offensively he has a mature game with a contact approach and all-fields type swing path. Extremely reliable defender on the INF as well
#82 2025 OF Briggs Ellis (O'Dea)
After impressing at preseason events, Ellis produced for a talented O'Dea squad this spring and shot up our rankings. Compact frame with athleticism. Narrow, open stance widens with long stride, stays on balance and in his lower half through contact. Quick mover laterally with plus range in corner OF.
#83 2025 3B Carson Cody (Emerald Ridge)
Cody had a standout year, particularly offensively. Strong framed athlete. Hands stack vertically in stance with rhythm. Longer, whippy barrel path. Hits to all fields and creates leverage at contact. Soft hands and active feet at third base.

Sumner @ Emerald Ridge proved to be a low scoring affair, but #uncommitted '25 3B Carson Cody paced the ER offense with a pair of loud doubles pic.twitter.com/s3NyHKSQ7z
#116 2025 3B Jaxon Fitzgerald (Kennedy Catholic)
The right-hander broke out in a big way offensively, leading the charge for Kennedy Catholic. Simple approach at the plate with ability to hit to all fields. Showcased high IQ on basepaths and with situational hitting. Makes the routine play defensively. Room to grow into frame.
‘25 Jaxon Fitzgerald (@OurLancerNation/#uncommitted) drove home two of his four runs on this swing. This helped sparked the scoring with two outs in the second inning. One of Jaxon’s two hits and four RBIs on the night. pic.twitter.com/rQ6Tqj66LQ
