Washington 2025 Rankings Update
May 18, 2023
Last week we started off our ranking updates with the Washington class of 2024. Today we continue expanding and updating our lists with the 2025 class.
Our latest update expands to our Top 100 players for the class.
Since its inception in 2005, the Prep Baseball Report has evolved into one of the country’s biggest and most respected independent scouting services, with a singular focus of providing comprehensive year-round coverage in every state we are in. The mission of the Prep Baseball Report is to scout and promote amateur baseball - high school, junior college and college and, ultimately, help athletes achieve theirs of playing baseball at the next level.
Rankings are based on evaluations by scouting director Dan Jurik as well as additional PBR scouts across the country who have seen prospects from the state at various events.
With a majority of the prospects on the list uncommitted, the goal is for this information to help assist college coaches as they

Continuing to hold strong in the #1 spot is one of the top players in the entire country, ‘25 INF/RHP Xavier Neyens (Mount Vernon). The Oregon State commit is an elite level hitter from the left-side with advanced power the plays to all fields. He’s shown quality pitch recognition against high level competition and is capable of getting to his ‘A’ swing in game. Defensively he can do it all at the HS level and projects to fill a corner spot long-term once he full grows into his frame. For good measure, he can also run his FB up to 90-92 and would be a bonafide pitching prospect if his offensive ceiling wasn’t so high.
‘25 Xavier Neyens (WA) has been an imposing force this weekend.

Low 90s on the bump & took one of the top BP rounds of any player.
Stays on this 2K pitch for a thunderous double the other way.

There’s a bit of movement in the Top 10 amongst some returning names. ‘25 INF/RHP Teddy Tokheim (Lakeside) climbs a few spots to #3 overall in large part to his present power and ability to drive the baseball. A true 2-way talent, he was exceptional on the mound this year as well and is one of the more well-rounded prospects in the state. Stanford commit.

Two newcomers who really impressed this spring were ‘25 INF Ian Draper (Rogers) and ‘25 LHP Shane Johnson (Lake Washington). Both Washington commits. Draper has always been a quality athlete who can really turn the barrel and move defensively on the diamond. This spring he had everything clicking at the plate and racked up strong offensive numbers in one of the stronger HS leagues in the state. Johnson had a highly successful year in 2022 and has successfully carried that momentum over. He’s shown a quality velo jump and was working 86-89 with the FB early on this spring in the start that we saw.

Newcomers…
#25 - Keep an eye on ‘25 OF Riley Sanoy (Puyallup). A long, wiry and projectable athlete. Sanoy is a quality runner with a big arm from the OF and the chance to hit for consistent power with his leverage and bat speed. Has a Christian Yelich type look in the box and is able to really impact the baseball with very little effort & minimal moving parts.
#29 - ‘25 C Jaylen Kennedy (North Thurston) was a standout at our Preseason ID in his first PBR event. Strongly built at 6’1, 180, he brings some carrying tools to the C position with his arm strength and offensive power. Runs well for the position. Uses a quiet, simple set-up in the box and lets his hands work freely while creating consistent hard contact.
#50 - ‘25 INF/RHP Lincoln Oelschlager (Lakeside) was another preseason performer who came into the scene with a strong first impression. 6’0, 170 with a lean build and athletic frame. Lincoln glides easily through the play on defense and shows a mature, gap to gap approach offensively. On the mound, his potential is really intriguing with a high spin rate FB (2392 rpm) up to 84 that he throws with easy effort and a silky smooth arm action that will very likely generate more output sooner rather than later.
