Top-10 Profiles of 2021: No. 7, Bjorn Johnson
December 28, 2021
As we approach the end of 2021, we're taking account of the PBR Washington player profile pages to determine the players in our backyard whose profiles earned the most attention throughout the year. We're counting down the top-10 profiles in the state that received the most views, starting at 10 and on, concluding our countdown on New Year's Day by revealing the most-viewed profile of the year.
The seventh most viewed profile in Washington this year was LHP Bjorn Johnson (Lincoln), who’s one of the region’s top prospects for the 2023 class. The lanky, high-waisted southpaw offers plenty of physical projection attached to a wiry frame and he enjoyed a successful all-around summer this year. Johnson showed well in front of our PBR Georgia staff at the LakePoint Sports Complex this summer and earned an invitation to the Area Code Games as well. His arm works clean and loose from a high ¾ slot, currently generating easy high-80s velocity with carry and more untapped heat in the tank. Johnson owns the ability to spin a breaking ball with depth for strikes in the low-to-mid-70s, too.
‘23 LHP Bjorn Johnson (#Washingtoncommit) 16 year old playing up. Tall lengthy long stride to the plate. Over the top delivery. 3/4 arm slot with ASR.

Committed to Washington, Johnson has one of the highest ceilings in the region for his class, especially as he continues to physically mature. More information on the southpaw, found below.
‘23 LHP Bjorn Johnson (@Citybaseballsea) has been impressive so far in the first game of bracket play. Pounding the zone with mostly FB’s, blowing it by hitters. Long, projectable frame, loose arm. #Washington commit.

Scouting Report
Strongly built, wiry frame at 6-foot-1, 175 pounds. Squarely built upper half with a wide build. Quick paced delivery with consistent tempo. High, balanced leg lift with some coil into his back hip. Shows some drop & drive after hand break as he begins stride down the slope. Gets full extension from glove side and creates slight shoulder tilt early. Levels out at landing as stride foot gets down. Lead leg opens up early, creating separation against his upper half. Clean, continuous arm path with whippy action through release. Works from a 3/4 slot. Stays on top of the ball and creates some downward angle on all 3 of his offerings. FB/CB/CH combination with all 3 flashing above average. Actions, frame and arm all project well for future development.
