Today we are releasing our weekly update to the Virginia/DC Power 25. Take a look at some new faces and some movement throughout the rankings.
- For the first time since March 25th, we have a new #1. The Miller School Mavericks move up one spot to the top spot in the Prep Baseball Virginia/DC Power 25. The Mavs have rolled to an impressive 30-5-2 record. Most recently they defeated Highland School and ended up in a tie due to darkness in a continuation game with them. They have defeated six teams that are or have been ranked inside of the Power 25. In addition to their in state success, MSA went out of state and defeated two Tennessee HS powers, Tennessee High and Baylor School, as well as Calvert Hall (MD).
- St. John's moves above Paul VI to the #2 spot. Although PVI defeated SJC in their lone meeting this year, it was very early in the season and SJC took care of business in the WCAC playoffs, running a 5-0 record over the course of eight days and only allowed one run in the WCAC Championship series. They have now captured back to back WCAC titles, as well as they are winners of eight of the last nine WCAC tournaments.
- Making one of the biggest jumps in the rankings is First Colonial. The Patriots have been on an impressive run. Winners of five of their last six, with all five wins coming via slaughter rule. Their lone loss in the past month is a one run loss to #9 Cape Henry. The Patriots bolster two strong starting junior right handers in Nic Morlang (Maryland) and Aiden Parker, a top uncommitted arm.
