VA/DC Class of 2025 Rankings: New Faces

Here are five new faces that make their way into the 2025 class rankings. Where will these five land? Check back on Wednesday for the updated 2025 release.

Adam Barrington OF / LHP / Wakefield, VA / 2025

First time seeing Barrington in game was this spring and we definitely came away impressed. Compact frame, athletic, left handed hitter with a solid combination of hit tool and in game speed. Can play center and left, potentially right as well, and hit for average with some doubles power in both gaps. Made a strong impression that night and has gone on to hit .339 at the front end of the Wakefield order. 

 

 

Caleb Fletcher RHP / RHP / Woodgrove, VA / 2025

The ODU commit was previously in the rankings before heading back to WV and is now back in VA where he will look to make a big splash in the rankings. Over 40 IP, ZERO earned runs, and two strikeouts per inning on the year. Fletcher has been up to 90 and shows an above average slider that is a put away pitch. He is probably the biggest breakout arm in NOVA this spring and definitely in consideration for Pitcher of the Year honors.

 

 

Kailen Hackmann RHP / OF / Washington Liberty, VA / 2025

Ultra long and projectable 6-foot-6 frame. There is some lean strength present, but the frame suggests he can hold a fair bit more and hold it well. Big arm speed and the fastball explodes out of the hand with late intent. We saw the fastball get up to 91 mph, and while it was only one inning, it was a very intriguing look and an arm you can dream on. The slider showed hard lateral movement with more sweeper profile and the makings of a future above average pitch with added feel. We do not want to go crazy over a one inning snapshot, but it is hard to not be excited about the future potential of this right hander.

 

 

Trace Monroe LHP / Salem, VA / 2025

Making a massive jump in stuff this spring is VMI commit Trace Monroe. The Salem HS left hander went from 77-79 mph when we saw him late last spring, to 85-88 in April of this year. In addition to the velo jump, added physicality, cleaning up the operation, and the ability to command the fastball are all reasons for him making his way into the 2025 class rankings. He has the chance to continue to climb as he continues to mature and add some polish to the secondary stuff.

 

 

Aiden Parker RHP / OF / First Colonial, VA / 2025

Parker is one of the hottest names in the beach, or in the state. 6-foot-6, 190-pound long levered frame with room to fill. Slower build up operation with an explosive arm through release. Gets pretty big time extension down the mound and out front causing that upper 80's fastball to play up a touch. The slider is firm with shorter shape and when our staff saw him it was only FB/SL mix, but if a third pitch is added Parker could continue to rise towards a starter profiled arm.
