Today we release a full, in-depth, and expanded update to the 2025 class. This update gives a small expansion from 225 to 250, which will be the final cap to the total number of ranked players in this class. Below we highlight a few players that our staff had an opportunity to gather evaluations on this summer.

We have a big shakeup at the top, with Myles Upchurch moving up one spot and taking over the top spot in the Virginia/DC 2025 Class Rankings. The St. Albans right hander is a low to mid 90's arm, lands three secondar pitches for strikes, and has the best starter profile of any arm in the state. The slider is arguably the best secondary pitch that usually works in the mid 80's and can land a changeup and curveball for strikes. It is a normal effort delivery that repeats well and the Alabama commit has shown the ability to hold velo deeper into his outings.

Caden Merritt makes a small move up inside the Top 15, from his position at #20. The recent Coastal Carolina commit had a big splash this spring at Gainesville and continued that trend this summer. Where was his biggest jump? Merritt's ability to impact the baseball was probably the biggest area of growth. He is a high motor, high effort outfielder with twitch in his actions and some explosiveness to his game. He can defend in center and the offense continues to make strides forward.

Ocean Lakes catcher and JMU commit Ryan Gocio makes a small move up and lands inside the Top 50. Our staff had a chance to see Gocio multiple times this spring, but this summer, in our opinion, is when he really took off. Solid 5-foot-11, 209-pound frame. Left handed hitter with the ability to use the whole field and has a feel for the barrel. He was regularly on barrel at 17U this summer and then had a standout day at the ProCase versus consistently good arms. Heavy barrel, impacts the ball to the backside gap, and has shown some power potential to the pull. His present ability to stay on pitches and drive them with carry to the backside was a big plus during this evaluation period.
