Super Sophomore Games: Virginia Sunday Quick Hits

This weekend, top uncommitted 2027s from the Mid-Atlantic have descended on Greensboro and Winston-Salem, North Carolina, for the Inaugural East Coast Super Sophomore Games. The event is being hosted at two locations, High Point University and Wake Forest University. Team Virginia players took part in a full workout on Friday on will play three games over the weekend, two on Saturday and one on Sunday. Colt Bradshaw SS / 2B / Frank Cox, VA / 2027

Gets the head out and drives and elevates this ball off the leftfield wall for a double.

 

Noah Brooks 3B / RHP / Nansemond Suffolk Academy, VA / 2027

Keeps his hands in tight and extends through the ball to drive this to right-center for a triple.

 

Cole Cinnamond 1B / LHP / GREAT BRIDGE HIGH, VA / 2027

Had a short appearance last night because of weather, longer look today. Long loose very quick arm action. Easy velocity, fastball was 88-90, hitting 91 twice, has some ride at the top of the zone. Slider was 74-77 and tightened up as the outing progressed.

 

Bryce Edick RHP / 3B / GRASSFIELD HIGH, VA / 2027

Short arm action from a lower three-quarters arm slot. Showed command of all three pitches and got swing and misses. Fastball was 82-84. Firm slider at 76-78 with late sharp break. Change-up was 78-79 with some late fade.

 

Noah Gray OF / 2B / MILLER SCHOOL OF ALBEMARLE, VA / 2027

Goes with an elevated pitch away and drives it through the right side for a backside hit. Good job letting it travel.

 

George Minjack 3B / OF / St. Albans DC, VA / 2027

Stays back on a breaking ball and yanks hands insde, letting the barrel work to drive this to left for a single.

 

Daggu Rana SS / RHP / Langley, VA / 2027

Some drop and drive in his delivery, longer quick arm action from a high three-quarters arm slot. Fastball was 83-85, touching 86. Breaking ball had slurvy shape and he landed it consistently at 72-74. Change-up was 75-77.

 

Kaleb Sartin OF / RHP / Pulaski County , VA / 2027

Sartin stays short and drives the ball through the 3.5 hole for a single. Elite speed, sub-6.5 already. On the mound, drop and drive delivery, short arm action from a high three-quarters slot. Fastball 85-87, topping at 88.4, pitch has some carry. Showed some feel and shape on his curveball early at 70-73. Slider was 71. Change-up 71-72.

 

Steele Smith LHP / OF / Glen Allen, VA / 2027

Goes out and gets the ball to shoot a single to right. On the mound, smooth delivery, longer arm action from a lower three-quarters arm slot. Fastball was 80-82, touching 83. Showed feel for change-up and drew some chases down low at 74-77. Curveball was 67-69.
