Junior Future Games: Team Virginia Workout Quick Hits

Wednesday, July 24th kicked off the 2024 Junior Future Games at LakePoint Sports in Emerson Georgia. 25 players, from Virginia and DC make up this year's Virgina/DC 14U Junior Future Games roster from the 2028 and 2029 grad classes. Below, we provide Quick Hit highlights from Workout Day.

Elijah Archer 1B / OF / Highland Springs, VA / 2028

5-9, 210 pound frame, closed athletic stance. Short stride in place, loads back, violence in hips translates lower half strength. Hands stay inside, bat gets through zone in a hurry, uphill path with strength at contact and extension, pull approach with present power. Best live exit velocity was 97.8 MPH.

 

Carter Alvis SS / 2B / Hanover, VA / 2029

5-9, 142 pound frame, slightly upright athletic stance. Strides on line and loads back, some violence in hips. Hands stay inside, uphill path with a pull approach, natural loft that way.

 

James Bacher C / SS / James Madison, VA / 2028

5-9, 158 pound frame. Wide base, toe stays down on stride, short load back, smooth calm set-up. Hands stay inside ball, uphill path with extension through contact. 

 

Gibson Beck SS / 3B / St. Christopher's, VA / 2028

6-1, 145 pound frame, balanced athletic stance. Low leg kick stride on line, loads back, good base and balance in lower half. Hands stay short and inside, slightly uphill line drive swing path, gap to gap approach.

 

Harrison Davis 1B / OF / HERITAGE, VA / 2028

6-2, 180 frame, balanced athletic stance. Low leg kick stride on line, hands stay pre-set high, hips rotate completely and some balance in lower half. Hands stay inside and short, swing is level up the middle and gets more uphill to pull side.

 

Cameron Feazell SS / RHP / GLENVAR , VA / 2028

5-8, 146 pound frame, balanced athletic stance. Strides on line, short load up and back, hands stay inside the baseball. Level line drive swing and shows a gap to gap approach.

 

Ethan Foster SS / RHP / Central (Wise), VA / 2028

5-11, 160 pound frame, athletic slightly open stance. Short stride on line, slight load back, hips have some explosion. Hands are quick through zone and stay inside the baseball, slightly uphill path that gets more uphill to pull side. Shows some power to pull and extension through the ball.

 

Tyler Jackson SS / 2B / Liberty Christian Academy, VA / 2028

5-7, 140 pound frame, tall relaxed balanced stance. Leg kick stride on line, small rhythm load, hips have some violence and he has a strong base. Stays inside and shorter to the ball with extension through it, slightly uphill path with some gap to gap present.

 

Wyatt Liller OF / SS / ATLEE HIGH, VA / 2028

5-8, 150 pound frame, slightly open balanced athletic stance. Heel lift-strides in place, minimal load back, hips rotate completely and sets nice base to swing. Hands stay inside the baseball, slightly uphill path with an up the middle approach.

 

Chase Miller OF / RHP / St. Anne's-Belfield, VA / 2028

5-10, 155 pound frame, relaxed athletic stance. Shorter leg kick stride, short smooth load back, hands stay inside ball. Slightly uphill swing path with some strength at contact and extension through the ball. Top live exit velocity was 90 MPH.

 

Christian Mulroe C / RHP / Mills Godwin, VA / 2028

5-10, 155 pound frame, leaned back athletic stance. Big leg kick stride on line, slight load down, hips fire well and then he has good lower half balance and base as hands work. Short to ball, slightly uphill path, line drive hitter.

 

Braxton Price C / 2B / John S. Battle, VA / 2028

5-7, 130 pound frame, upright balanced stance. Strides on line, loads down and back, violent explosive hips drive hands. Stays inside, strong contact point with an uphill path. 

 

Andersen Seely OF / RHP / New Kent High, VA / 2028

6-1, 177 pound frame, wider athletic stance. Very short stride, minimal load. Hands stay inside the ball and there is some strength at contact. Slightly uphill path early with a high finish, worked gap to gap with line drive approach. 

 

Colton Smith SS / RHP / Battlefield, VA / 2028

5-11, 155 pound frame, balanced athletic stance. Short stride on line, loads down and slightly back. Short hand path stays inside the ball, line drive hitter showed gap to gap approach.

 

Luke Torres SS / OF / MARSHALL HIGH, VA / 2028

5-9, 130 pound frame, athletic balanced stance. Short stride and short smooth load down and slightly back, hands stay short and inside ball. Uphill path with a pull preference and natural loft in swing.

 

Drew Wade 3B / RHP / Miller School of Albemarle , VA / 2028

5-9, 170 pound frame, short leg kick stride from relaxed open stance. Hands stay inside with straight path to the ball. Slighlty uphill path with some strength at contact and extension. Top exit live velocity was 90.8 MPH.
