Thursday, July 24th kicked off game action at the 2024 Junior Future Games at LakePoint Sports in Emerson Georgia. Players from Virginia and DC make up this year's Virgina/DC 14U Junior Future Games roster from the 2028 and 2029 grad classes. In the team's first game, they lost to North Carolina, 7-6. Below, we provide Quick Hit highlights from the game.

James Bacher C / SS / James Madison, VA / 2028

Lined this ball for a sharply hit single to left field. Kept hands back and loaded waiting on the ball.

 

Cameron Feazell SS / RHP / GLENVAR , VA / 2028

Launched the first pitch here up the left-centerfield gap for an RBI triple. Caught the ball out front and showed the ability to elevate and drive the ball.

 

Chase Miller OF / RHP / St. Anne's-Belfield, VA / 2028

Stayed back and went with the pitch for a backside line drive single to right, drove in two runs. Kept swing simple in an RBI situation.

 

Braxton Price C / 2B / John S. Battle, VA / 2028

Lets the ball travel and then punches it to right for a backside single. Kept weight and hands back while letting ball travel, giving him ability to drive the baseball.

 

Andersen Seely OF / RHP / New Kent High, VA / 2028

Has an athletic 6-1 frame. Full loose arm action from a three-quarters slot. Fastball was up to 77 and has some armside run and heavy late sink. Showed a change-up with armspeed and heavy fade.

 

Colton Smith SS / RHP / Battlefield, VA / 2028

Lankier frame, short arm action from a three-quarters arm slot. Filled up the strike zone and showed a lot of feel for the gloveside fastball. Fastball was 76-78. Change-up was 73 with fading action. Slider has downer shape at 68-69 and he got swings and misses with it. 

 

Luke Torres SS / OF / MARSHALL HIGH, VA / 2028

Shows patience keeping hands back and then good approach going with the pitch for a backside line drive single.

 Simple smooth repeatable delivery, works from a high three-quarters slot with a short arm action. Was around the zone and forced weak contact. Fastball was 77-80, touching 81 with a bit of late action.

 

Drew Wade 3B / RHP / Miller School of Albemarle , VA / 2028

Smooth drop and drive delivery with some crossfire and deception. Short loose quick arm action, works from a high three-quarters arm slot. Showed ability to pound strike zone with fastball and slider. Fastball was 80-83, touching 84 with a bit of late boring action down and ride when up. Slider has downer action with tight shape running 72-75. Also showed a change-up at 73.

 Goes down and gets this one and barrels the ball for a hard lineout to left.
