This Future Games Spotlight series will highlight and take a deeper dive into the player performances from Team Virginia/DC's week at Future Games, as well as an overall report on what we have seen from these players over the past year.

Ethan Hudson RHP / OF / HIGHLAND SCHOOL, VA / 2026

Compact 5-foot-9, 175-pound frame. Another new face at Highland School and another arm that will bring pitchability to that staff. We saw Hudson in a brief look during the high school season and the velo and stuff was down quite a bit, but he has taken off to another level. The velo has ticked up, the pitchability has made a step forward, and the ability to spin and throw two secondary pitches for strikes has remained. The slider is solid in the velo department and shows some depth. Slower buildup to the delivery and then effort and pace picks up. The mid-upper 80's fastball is in the zone and he attacks hitters. The delivery and movement down the mound jumps at hitters. The fastball worked to both sides of the plate and got up to 88 mph on the day.

Hudson worked two fairly quick and clean innings to close out the win and to close out Future Games for Team Virginia. Overall, this arm has taken a sizable jump in multiple areas. He is a smaller framed arm, but does not back down from any matchups. With he and McCauley making the move to the Hawks, those two will be welcomed additions to create significant depth for that staff.
