This Future Games Spotlight series will highlight and take a deeper dive into the player performances from Team Virginia/DC's week at Future Games, as well as an overall report on what we have seen from these players over the past year.

Drew Christine LHP / 1B / St. John's College, VA / 2026

Thin, 6-foot-2, 165-pound frame with plenty of room to fill out. Christine is on the younger end for his class, currently 16 yr 3 mo. Being a lower miles, younger arm, you have to think and dream on the upside here with this arm. Not only does the St. John's left hander have plenty of ceiling left, he has the pitchability that comes along with an arm from the Cadets' program. Christine sat 86-88 in this two inning outing and showed the ability to work the fastball to both sides of the plate. The breaking ball was a bit softer, sitting upper 60's with 1/7 shape, and showed an average feel for it. It was a good change of pace from the fastball/changeup mix that played well off of each other. The mid-70's changeup may have been the best secondary offering of the day, with a solid combination of shape and feel.

With the effort, pitchability, and ceiling left, Christine has some starter upside to him. The arm really works and I think he will take a big leap into this spring and beyond. Has a chance to be one of the more polished left handers in the 2026 VA/DC class.
