This Future Games Spotlight series will highlight and take a deeper dive into the player performances from Team Virginia/DC's week at Future Games, as well as an overall report on what we have seen from these players over the past year.

Carter Perdue RHP / 3B / Paul VI, VA / 2026

What is there left to say about the 6-foot-3, 187-pound right hander? Pitcher, competitor, and a guy that you know what you are getting when you hand him the ball. Is in the zone with a mostly fastball/slider mix and can throw either pitch in any count. There was really nothing that he did in this outing that came as a surprise, and for me, that is a good thing. Does not really seem to matter the level of hitter, the size of the stage he is on, he is going to compete and challenge from the first pitch until the last.

If there was anything that stood out, it was his ability and confidence to throw breaking balls in fastball counts. 3-1, 3-2, 2-0, did not matter. He was willing and able to throw the mid-upper 70's slider for strikes. As expected on that stage, the velo was a tick or two higher than what we have seen and held for those two innings. The fastball sat 88-90 with some run on the arm side of the plate and he can create some angle to the glove side, making it a tougher pitch to cover for left handers. The stuff is not "elite stuff" in terms of the metric piece, but he simply wins pitches on a regular basis and hitters just do not seem comfortable in the box versus him.

All in all, just a really strong performance from the PVI ace and we expected nothing less.
