This summer at our 16U Summer Championship, Virginia Cardinals infielder, Turner Johnson, was red hot. The Monacan High School multi-sport star had hit after hit and showed his ability to impact the game at a high level. Johnson has a 6-foot-1, 170-pound athletic frame and a simple, repeatable swing that plays in game. See his full profile and video below.

VA/DC State Games

Johnson is 6-0 with a lanky athletic frame that has a lot of projection left to it. He throws from a low three-quarters arm slot, short free arm action and normal effort to his delivery. Shoulders are level and closed, lands slightly open with a bit of a fall off finish. Fastball was 71-73, touching 74, with some armside run and late heavy sink. Curveball was 61-62 with some armspeed and gradual 11/5 break to it. Change-up was 67-68 with good armspeed and some fade to it. Was around the zone with all three pitches and showed ability to move the ball around the zone.
