2022 saw some highs and lows for the Paul VI Panthers, but they look to be talented and healthy in 2023. What will it take to for them to be celebrating at Shepherd Stadium in late May? See the full rundown right here.
Classification: VISAA Division I / WCAC 2022 Record: 15-10
Key Losses: Carlos Irizarry (PSU-Harrisburg), Owen Mead (Marymount)
Youth, experience, athleticism, and talent are all words to describe the 2023 Panthers. Paul VI returns a talented offensive lineup that bolsters an infield that can defend at a high level. They will need to replace the production and leadership that Carlos Irizarry (Penn State-Harrisburg) offered, but have the firepower to do so. Their offense should be paced by Alex Peltier (East Carolina), Jackson Sirois (UVA), Tyler Rowling (Penn State), Mattox Flatt, and a potential other name to know is Will Tighe. Paul VI will go as their staff goes and they have some solid arms that can get it done on the mound. Watch for Air Force commit, Tyler Russ to potentially lead the staff and Logan Eisenreich (Virginia Tech) could see a big jump in innings this spring. Keep an eye on Paul VI, as I think they have a strong chance to get to Shepherd Stadium in late May.
